
Men's Basketball Continues Homestand with Matchup Versus Charleston Southern

GAMENOTES
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball looks to go 3-0 when hosting Charleston Southern at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the game live on the radio by tuning into 104.1 The Spot or by CLICKING HERE. Tulane's "Voice of the Green Wave" Corey Gloor will call the action live.
STARTING FIVE
1. The two teams have not faced each other since 2007 when Tulane won 66-60 in Charleston, South Carolina. Tulane is 2-0 all-time versus Charleston Southern having also won in 2006, 75-69.
2. Tulane is 22-18 against nonconference opponents since the beginning of the Ron Hunter era.
3. Kevin Cross was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll after averaging 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 through the first two games of the season.
4. Transfer Collin Holloway made his regular season debut for Tulane last Friday, tying his career-high 25 points in the team's win over McNeese State. Holloway also had three assists, three rebounds and three steals.
5. After two games Tulane ranks second among AAC teams in scoring offense (82.0) behind Cincinnati (84.7). As a team they hold the second-best field goal percentage at .500. Kevin Cross holds the third-best field goal percentage at .615 and the third best scoring average at 21.5.
TULANE BY THE NUMBERS
257 – Tulane has made at least one 3-point field goal in 257 consecutive games. The last time the Green Wave failed to do so came on Jan. 16, 2014 at home against Louisiana Tech when they went 0-for-14 from outside.
32 – Jaylen Forbes is 32 points away from 1,000 in his career.
21 – Kevin Cross has scored 21 points in back-to-back games. He holds the best scoring average on the team. Cross was named the most improved player in the AAC after last season.
17 – Ron Hunter is 17 wins away from 500 career wins.
9.4 – The Green Wave saw a 9.4 percent increase in average points per game from the 2020-21 season to the 2021-22 season.
4 – Tulane was picked to finish fourth in the American Athletic Conference 2022-23 preseason poll.
3 – Three members earned Preseason All-AAC Honors. Jalen Cook was a unanimous first team selection while Jaylen Forbes and and Kevin Cross earned second team honors.
WITH A WIN OVER CHARLESTON SOUTHERN...
• Tulane will get its third straight win over Charleston Southern.
• Tulane will have a three-game win streak for the first time since the beginning of the 2020-21 season when they beat Lamar, Lipscomb and Southern Miss.
THE OPPONENT - CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
• Claudell Harris Jr. made a statement to open his sophomore campaign, dropping a career-high 26 points on 7-16 shooting while also chasing down five boards in the teams season opener.
• The Bucs rank 338 of 352 in the nation in shooting percentage at just 36.1% as a team.
• Dropping a matchup versus Ohio State, Charleston Southern saw three players score in the double figures including Tahlik Chavez, Taje' Kelly and Claudell Harris Jr.
• Charleston Southern shot just 33% from the field versus Ohio State.
