Makuvire Competes at 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships
Nov 18, 2022 | Cross Country
STILLWATER, Okla. - Tulane cross country's Bradley Makuvire is set to compete at the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday.
A challenging course combined with frigid conditions, expected to be in the 20s with the wind chill, may alter who is favored for team and individual honors among the 31 teams and 250-plus runners.
"The level of competition does not get higher than this," director of cross country and track & field Adrian Myers said. "The best athletes in the NCAA and furthermore, from around the world will meet this weekend. With that's said, I'm excited to add that our Green Wave will be represented on that line. I'm so proud of Bradley and the growth he's shown this fall. He is only beginning to show what he is capable of and because of that, I'm so excited for his future here in Uptown. Bradley is ready to compete and put himself out there with the intentions of leaving his mark in program history. When the gun goes off tomorrow morning, Bradley will give it everything he has."
This is Makuvire's first season with Tulane after transferring from Southeastern, having been a solid runner throughout 2022. He was All-Region selection after placing ninth overall with a time of 30:43.6 with an average pace of 4:56 at 2022 NCAA South Central Regional Championships. The junior also won his first cross country meet wearing the Olive and Blue, winning the Arturo Barrios Invitational with a time of 23:25.5 back in October.
Admission is $10 to the meet (https://bit.ly/3EEGTX1) and coverage of the race will be on ESPNU. Live results are available here: https://live.pttiming.com/XC-PTT.html?mid=5234.
