Men's Basketball Faces Rhode Island in Round Two of Cayman Islands Classic

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands – Tulane Men's basketball faces Rhode Island in the second round of the Cayman Islands Classic on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.

The three-day tournament is being broadcast on FloHoops. Fans can also listen to the game live on the radio by tuning into 104.1 The Spot or by CLICKING HERE. Tulane's "Voice of the Green Wave" Corey Gloor will call the action live.

STARTING FIVE
1. After the loss to Nevada, Tulane is set to play 1-3 Rhode Island in the second round of the tournament.

2. The Green Wave holds a 2-1 record over Rhode Island.

3. Tulane has the highest scoring offense in the tournament at 87.7 points per game and the highest field goal percentage at .515.

4. Jalen Cook made his regular season debut for Tulane last Wednesday, scoring 23 points coming on the bench in the teams win over Charleston Southern. Cook was a preseason All-AAC First Team selection.

5. Through three games, Tulane holds the highest scoring offense in the AAC at 87.7 ppg. Tulane is second in the AAC in scoring margin at +19.7, behind Houston at +36.5.

TULANE BY THE NUMBERS
259 – Tulane has made at least one 3-point field goal in 259 consecutive games. The last time the Green Wave failed to do so came on Jan. 16, 2014 at home against Louisiana Tech when they went 0-for-14 from outside.

4 – Tulane was picked to finish fourth in the American Athletic Conference 2022-23 preseason poll.
3 – Three members earned Preseason All-AAC Honors. Jalen Cook was a unanimous first team selection while Jaylen Forbes and and Kevin Cross earned second team honors.

• Rhode Island is the only team in the Cayman Islands Classic with a record under .500.
• Sophomore point guard Sebastian Thomas set new career highs with 13 points and 10 assists in Rhode Island's 74-64 victory over Stony Brook last time out
• Sophomore guard Ishmael Leggett has led Rhode Island in scoring in each of the first three games of the season.
• He is averaging 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while also shooting .870 (20-of-23) at the free throw line.
