
Tulane Women’s Basketball to Host Cincinnati Sunday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University women's basketball (15-7, 6-4) will go for its fifth-straight victory and its fourth consecutive against American Athletic Conference competition as it hosts Cincinnati (10-12, 3-7) Sunday. Tipoff between the Green Wave and the Bearcats is set for 2 p.m. CT in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. Â

The Green Wave's matchup with the Tigers will be aired live on ESPN+. Fans can watch the game live by CLICKING HERE. This will be 37th all-time meeting between Tulane and Cincinnati with the series tied 18-18. Tulane has won the last two matchups against Cincinnati with the last coming on Feb. 7, 2021, by a 61-59 decision in New Orleans. The Wave holds a 9-6 advantage over the Bearcats in Uptown including wins in the last two meetings at home. Tulane is 8-3 at home against Cincinnati under Coach Stockton. Head Coach Lisa Stockton holds a 16-9 advantage over Cincinnati during her time at Tulane.

Four players are averaging at least 11 points for the Olive and Blue this season with redshirt senior Moon Ursin leading the team averaging 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. The Destrehan, Louisiana, native ranks fourth in the AAC in rebounding and seventh in scoring. Dynah Jones joins Ursin in the top-10 in scoring in the league with 12.9 points per contest and is averaging a team-high 14.1 points in league games. Krystal Freeman follows with 12.1 points and 7.6 boards while Arsula rounds out the top scorers for Tulane posting 11.7 points and 4.1 assists per contest.

The Green Wave is 9-2 at home so far this season including 3-2 in league competition. Tulane is averaging 75.6 points while allowing only 62.5 points per game to its opponents in Uptown. The Wave controls the glass at home averaging 49.1 boards and outrebounding opponents by 12.7 rebounds per game.

In its last time out, Tulane won its fourth-straight contest and its third consecutive AAC game as it defeated Memphis 76-74 on the road Thursday. Freeman led all scorers with 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting while adding nine rebounds. Joining her with double figures in the scoring column against the Tigers were Arsula Clark with 16, Dynah Jones with 14 and Moon Ursin with 12.

Cincinnati is coming off back-to-back losses at Memphis 66-54 on Feb. 2 and at home against SMU 71-66 on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The duo of Jillian Hayes and Akira Levy leads the Bearcats on offense. Hayes leads the team with 11.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while Levy follows with 11.7 points per contest. Cincinnati is averaging 55.5 points while allowing 67.1 per game on the road. The Bearcats are 2-6 on the season in true road contests including 1-3 against AAC opponents.

Following its matchup with the Bearcats, the Green Wave will return to the road to visit the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes on Wednesday, February 16. Tipoff between Tulane and Tulsa is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
