TULANE'S NOTESÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â SOUTHEASTERN'S NOTES
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team (13-7-1) will welcome Southeastern Louisiana University (8-12) to Greer Field at Turchin Stadium on Wednesday for a midweek clash.

THE MATCHUP
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The matchup can be viewed on ESPN+ and can be heard on WRBH 88.3 FM.

Tulane leads the all-time series against Southeastern 79-40.

The last time these two sides faced off was March 1st, 2022, when the Wave exploded for a 23-1 victory. The 23 runs was the highest total by a Tulane team in one game since 2005 when it plated 24 against Marist. The Green Wave collected 16 hits, including eight doubles, one shy of the program record. Ethan Groff set career highs in hits (5), runs (5), and RBIs (4). Tulane's pitchers were also dialed in as they allowed only four hits.

The Green Wave pitching staff has a 4.23 ERA and has punched out 179 batters in 183.0 innings pitched. Freshman Grant Siegel (3-0) has a 0.39 ERA over 23.0 innings of work.Â

Freshman Jackson Linn has a five-game hitting streak going into the matchup and has raised his average to .444.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
The Lions are coming off being swept on the road by Samford (10-7) but have several impressive wins so far this season. Southeastern has defeated No. 3 Arkansas (16-3) away and No. 1 Ole Miss (15-4) at home.Â

Fifth-year senior Preston Faulkner leads the way offensively for the Lions. The infielder leads the club in hits (19), doubles (7), home runs (4), and RBIs (15).

Sophomore Will Kinzeler (2-0) has been the Lions standout pitcher so far this season. The right-hander has a 1.97 ERA over 32.0 innings while striking out 30.Â

LAST TIME OUT
Tulane hosted Villanova (3-13-1) for a three-game set last weekend. The Green Wave won the first two games 3-1 and 12-2, but the finale ended in a 3-3 tie due to Villanova's travel schedule.Â

The Wave outhit the Wildcats 29-17 and only made one error in the entire series.

The Tulane pitching staff was solid all weekend and only allowed six walks in the series.Â
