
Tulane Women’s Tennis Wraps Regular Season at South Alabama

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's tennis team will close the regular season with a road match at South Alabama on Friday in Mobile, Alabama. The match between the Green Wave and the Jaguars is set for 2 p.m. CT.
Tulane will enter the matchup against South Alabama with an 11-8 overall record on the season and a 2-6 mark in matches outside of New Orleans this year.
The Green Wave and the Jaguars have faced off eight times in program history with Tulane holding a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Wave has won the last two meetings against South Alabama including a 4-2 victory last year in New Orleans on February 28, 2021. Tulane is 2-1 against the Jaguars in Mobile, Alabama, despite losing in its last trip 4-0 in 2015. The last time the Green Wave won on the road against South Alabama come on April 11, 2012, by a score of 6-1.
The pairing of Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell continues to climb the national rankings and pace Tulane in doubles action this season. The duo landed at No. 67 in the latest ITA rankings and holds a 14-2 record this spring. In singles play, the Green Wave is led by Yelamanchili and Russell each with an 11-4 record.
Following the match against South Alabama, the Green Wave will head to the American Athletic Conference tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The tournament begins Wednesday, April 20, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
