NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team (27-17-1; 9-6) is hosting cross-town rivals University of New Orleans (23-18; 9-9) on Tuesday night inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.

The Green Wave and Privateers will battle it out in their third matchup of the season, the deciding game of the 2022 Pelican Cup.

THE MATCHUP
- First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.
- The matchup can be viewed on ESPN+ and heard on WRBH 88.3 FM.
- Tulane leads the all-time series 83-69.
- The Wave and the Privateers have played twice this season and split the tilts. Both contests were in Maestri Field.
HIGHLIGHTING THE WAVE
- The Wave is hitting .273 as a club and the pitching staff has a 4.69 ERA.
- Tulane is fourth in the AAC, with series wins against Memphis, USF, and ECU.
- Redshirt sophomore Ethan Groff is hitting .404, the highest average in the AAC by .037 points and the 21st highest mark in NCAA D1 baseball. Groff is in the top five in the AAC of almost every offensive statistic and leads the conference in runs, doubles, OBP, and OPS.
- The third highest average in the AAC belongs to Tulane's own freshman outfielder Jackson Linn at .364. Linn has established himself as an everyday started in the heart of Tulane's lineup in his inaugural season.
- Sophomore Dylan Carmouche has amassed a 3.86 ERA in 11 starts for the Wave. The lefty has pitched the most innings for Tulane by double digits and has struck out 64 batters, the fifth most of any AAC pitcher.
SCOUTING THE PRIVATEERS
- UNO is currently tied for fourth place in the Southland Conference after dropping a series to Nicholls State last weekend.
- The Privateers picked up an impressive 9-4 win over LSU last Tuesday.
- The Privateers hit .288 as a team and the pitching staff has a 5.66 ERA.
- Sophomore Amani Larry hits .354, the highest on the club and second highest in the Southland. He leads the Privateers in stolen bases with 11.Â
- Senior Pearce Howard leads UNO and the Southland in RBI with 55. Howard has a .349 average and has struck out just 22 times in 169 at bats.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Green Wave lost two out of three to UCF in Orlando last weekend.Â
- Tulane won Saturday's matchup 7-5.Â
- Freshman Brady Marget collected two hits and three RBI in the win.
