
Green Wave Hosts South Alabama for Midweek Showdown

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team (29-19-1; 10-8) will host the University of South Alabama (27-19;13-11) on Tuesday evening inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
The matchup will be the final midweek game of Tulane's season before its final two conference series.

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team (29-19-1; 10-8) will host the University of South Alabama (27-19;13-11) on Tuesday evening inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
The matchup will be the final midweek game of Tulane's season before its final two conference series.
THE MATCHUP
- First pitch is schedule for 6:30 p.m.
- The matchup can be viewed on ESPN+ and heard on WRBH 88.3 FM.
- Tulane leads the all-time series 45-17.
- The two sides met on April 26 in Mobile, and the Jaguars won 8-1.
- The Wave is hitting .273 as a club and the pitching staff has a 4.64 ERA.
- Tulane is 8-5 in midweek games and won its last midweek clash against UNO 6-5.
- The Green Wave has a 18-10-1 record at home.
- Tulane is fourth in the AAC, with series wins against Memphis, USF, and ECU.
- Redshirt senior Luis Aviles is leading the Wave with 38 RBI. The first baseman/catcher has launched ten doubles and ten home runs, tied for fourth most by an AAC player. Aviles is also in the top five in the conference for triples (3), OBP (.593), and walks (28).
- The second-highest average in the AAC belongs to freshman outfielder Jackson Linn at .370. Linn has established himself as an everyday starter in the heart of Tulane's lineup in his inaugural season.
- Sophomore Dylan Carmouche has amassed a 3.72 ERA in 12 starts for the Wave. The lefty has pitched the most innings for Tulane by double digits and has struck out 72 batters, the fifth most of any AAC pitcher.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
- South Alabama is in sixth place in the Sunbelt and is coming off a sweep of Arkansas State in Mobile last weekend.
- The Bearcats hit .296 as a team, the 46th best team average in NCAA DI baseball, and the pitching staff has a 4.33 ERA.
- Senior Miles Simington leads the club with a .391 average. Simington had eight hits over the weekend and has a team-leading 46 RBI.
- Junior Santi Montiel leads the Jaguars in home runs with 10.
- Redshirt junior Walker Johnson has made the last four midweek starts for South Alabama. The righty has a 3.26 ERA in 30.1 innings of work.Â
- The Wave dropped a series to Cincinnati in New Orleans last weekend.
- All three games were decided by one run.
- Tulane won Saturday's tilt 4-3 thanks to home runs by Aviles and Linn.
- Carmouche went 7.1 innings with eight strikeouts and just two earned runs on Friday night.
