Tulane Golf Opens 2022 Fall Season in New Orleans
Sep 11, 2022 | Women's Golf
NEW ORLEANS - With a team full of returners, Tulane golf opens its fall season with the Green Wave Classic at The Bayou Oaks Golf Course in New Orleans.Â
This is the first annual Green Wave Classic and it comes with a stacked field which includes the 2022 SEC Champion LSU Tigers, fellow American Conference members Tulsa and USF, as well as Power 5 competition in Nebraska. Seattle, Central Arkansas, Sam Houston, Mercer, Incarnate Word, Chattanooga, Arkansas Little Rock, Northern Colorado and UNC Asheville complete the field of 14.Â
"We are excited to start competing," head coach Stew Burke said. "Over the last month the team has put in the time to improve and compete among themselves in a way that puts us in a good spot to go head to head with some of the best teams."
Familiar faces fill the Tulane lineup with the entirety of last year's AAC Championship team making its return to the fairway. Cleo Liu, Matilde Innocenti, Carla Bernat, Sandra Vazquez and Carlota Palacios will tee off as Tulane's "A" team.
Miriam Emmert, Hanna Liu, Luna Xu and Ruhee Pandit will all compete as individuals.Â
The tournament begins Monday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Rounds one and two will take place Monday, followed by round three on Tuesday. Live stats can be found here.
