Green Wave Set for Road Battle with Knights

ORLANDO, Fla. – Tulane University Women's Basketball (11-7, 1-4) will look to bounce back on the road when it takes on UCF (10-6, 1-3) in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday. The matchup between the Green Wave and the Knights is set to tipoff at 5 p.m. CT in Addition Financial Arena.

This marks the 29th all-time meeting between Tulane and UCF with the series tied 14-14. The Wave holds a 4-8 record on the road against the Knights. The last time Tulane defeated the Knights in Orlando came Feb. 17, 2016, 65-53.

In its last time out, Tulane fell on the road at South Florida 53-66 on Saturday. Dynah Jones and Marta Galic led the Green Wave in scoring with 13 points apiece. Jones also added a team-high seven rebounds and four assists.

Three players are averaging double figures in scoring for the Green Wave this season. Galic leads the team with 13.6 points per contest. Jones follows with 12.3 points per game while Kyren Whittington posts 11.6 points per game. Galic is second the AAC and ranks 10th nationally in three-pointers per game with 3.06.

Tulane ranks second in the league in assists per game (16.6) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.02). Rachel Hakes leads the league in assists (92) and assists per game (5.1).

UCF enters the matchup with an 10-6 overall record and a 1-6 mark in league play following its first conference win defeating Wichita State 59-56 on Wednesday in Orlando. The Knights are averaging 65.1 points per game and a league leading 44.7 rebounds per contest. Destiny Thomas leads UCF in scoring at 12.0 points and rebounding at 10.9 boards per game. She leads the conference and ranks second in the nation in offensive rebounds per game with 5.3.

Following the matchup with the Knights, the Green Wave will return home to host Tulsa on Saturday in New Orleans. Tipoff between Tulane and the Golden Hurricane is set for 2 p.m. inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
