Tulane Ready for Road Test at East Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Tulane University Women's Basketball (10-5, 0-2) will face its first American Athletic Conference road test as it takes on East Carolina (10-5, 1-1) on Sunday. The matchup between the Green Wave and the Pirates is set to tipoff at 1 p.m. CT in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

This marks the 30th all-time meeting between Tulane and East Carolina with the Wave leading the series 20-9. The Wave defeated the Pirates in the lone meeting last season 75-55 at home on January 29. Tulane holds an 8-4 record on the road against East Carolina with its last victory in Greenville coming in 2016.
In its last time out, Tulane dropped its second conference game on Thursday with a 56-59 loss at home to Houston. Kyren Whittington led all players in the contest with 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Dynah Jones notched a career-best seven steals in the game.
Three players are averaging double figures in scoring for the Green Wave this season. Marta Galic leads the team with 13.5 points per contest. Jones follows with 12.9 points per game while Whittington posts 11.9 points per game. Galic leads the American Athletic Conference and ranks fourth nationally in three-pointers per game with 3.07.
Tulane ranks second in the AAC in assists per game (17.1) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.04). Rachel Hakes leads the league in assists (85) and assists per game (5.7).
East Carolina enters the matchup with an 10-5 overall record and a 1-1 mark in league play following a 55-47 win at Memphis on Tuesday. The Pirates are averaging 61.7 points per game on 37.0 percent shooting this season. ECU leads the AAC in turnovers forced per game (26.93) and turnover margin (8.6). Danae McNeal leads the Pirates in scoring with 13.9 points per contest and leads the league in steals with 41.
Following the matchup with the Pirates, the Green Wave will return to Uptown to host Wichita State on Wednesday. Tipoff between Tulane and the Shockers is set for 6 p.m.
