
Tulane Wins Third Consecutive SEISA Open Fall Championship

AUSTIN, Texas – Tulane University sailing notched its third-straight SEISA Open Fall Championship title with another first-place finish on Lake Travis on Saturday. The Green Wave finished at the top of the leaderboard 45 points ahead of the next team in the eight-team field.
The Tulane coed crew posted a final tally of 49 points through 10 rotations on the water to claim its third consecutive fall SEISA title.
Skippers John Wood and Oakley Cunningham with crews Claire Lewis, Caroline Caudron, and Caitlin Briggs led all teams on the water finishing with just 19 points through 10 races in the B Division. The group posted four first place finishes and never finished below fourth in the division.
In the A Division, skippers Matheo Capasso and Ava Anderson teamed with crews Briggs, Parker Kumler, and Cate Anderson to finish tied in the division with 30 points. Capasso paired with Kumler and Briggs to record the teams two first place finishes in the division.
On Sunday, the Green Wave women's team will take their turn on the water to race for their third-straight fall SEISA championship. Racing for the SEISA Women's Fall Championship will begin at 10 a.m.
