Green Wave Hosts Furman Thursday Night

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball (6-2) will be back in Uptown on Thursday to host Furman (5-5) in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave will look to improve to 7-2 overall and 5-0 at home so far this season.

The game between the Green Wave and the Bulldogs is set to tipoff at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 104.1 The Spot with the Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the first ever meeting between the Green Wave and the Paladins. Head Coach Ron Hunter is 0-1 in his coaching career against Furman. Tulane holds a 17-7 record all-time against the current teams from the Southern Conference including a 10-3 record in games played in Uptown. The last time the Wave defeated a team from the SOCON was a 62-48 victory over Wofford on January 4, 2013, in New Orleans.

In its last time out, Tulane dropped its second game of the season in a 106-76 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday in the Holiday Hoopsgiving event in Atlanta. Three players scored in double figures for the Green Wave in the contest led by Kolby King with 18 points. Collin Holloway tallied 12 points and Tre' Williams added 10 points off the bench.

Through December 11, the Green Wave leads the AAC in scoring offense (86.88), field goal percentage (.517), free throws made per game (24.2), free throws attempted per game (31.8), steals (10.5), and turnover margin (+4.4).

Furman enter the matchup with a 5-5 record after defeating Bob Jones 100-58 at home on Saturday. The Paladins hold a 1-3 record so far this season in road contests with its lone road victory coming at Coastal Carolina 89-80 in the Myrtle Beach Invitational. The team has dropped road games against UAB, Princeton, and Arkansas.

The Paladins are averaging 81.8 points per game while allowing 84.8 per game in road contest this season. The Paladins are connecting at a 46.7 percent clip from the floor and 37.1 percent from downtown on the road. They allow opponents to shoot an average of 50.2 percent from the field on the road.
