
Two Top-10 School Marks Lead Track & Field at a Pair of Meets on Saturday

Azusa, California / Hammond, Louisiana – Tulane's outdoor track and field program picked up two top-10 school marks in a pair of meets on Saturday. The program wrapped up competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Athletic Stadium in Azusa, California and also took part in the Strawberry Relays in Hammond, Louisiana at Southeastern Louisiana Track Complex. The team tallied 24 personal records on Saturday at the two meets plus 11 top-three finishes including a pair of event victories.
Bryan Clay Invitational
Aaron Gilliam had a personal record of 3:47.91 in the men's 1,500m. The mark places him fifth all-time at Tulane in the career record book.
In the women's open A 1500m, Reese Ragland had a four-second personal record of 4:35.62. Macy Turcotte finished just above her PR with a 4:41.51.
Janae Dean led the team in the women's 400m with a 56.47. Victoria Robinson finished just behind her with a 57.11 with Abigail Heck ranking 70th with a 57.80.
In the men's 400m, Zander Dunbar led the squad with his 50.59. Jalen St. Fort had a personal-best run of 51.92.
Roman Schrader had the team's best time in the men's open 1500m with a 4:02.64.
Harper Shaw led the squad in the women's open B 1500m with her 4:46.66.
Strawberry Relays
Devean Deal, in his first meet since joining the program, won the men's shot put with his throw 14.05m/46'1.25". The throw also places him ninth all-time in the Tulane record book. He also ranked fifth in the men's discus (42.55m/139'7").
Tolu Ajayi won the women's 100m with a 12.57m. She also finished second in the 200m (25.72).
Olivia Hicks earned second in the women's high jump with her 1.61m/5.3'5".
Ashley Horwitz placed second in the women's 800m (2:21.04).
Norah Bice took second in the women's discus (35.69m/117'1"). Bice also finished third in the javelin (34.94m/114'8).
Alex Sharp ranked third in the women's 1500m with a personal-best 4:52.93. Brenda Ellis earned fifth with her 4:55.38.
Alyssa Dismuke was the runner-up in the women's shot put (10.77m/35'4"). Bella Gonzalez earned third with a 9.97m/32'8.5". Emma Simons took sixth with her 9.24m/30'3.75".
Additionally, Dismuke ranked third in the discus (34.45m/113'0"). Ashley Trester took fifth (30.20m/99'1"), while Simons earned ninth (25.44m/83.6")
Matthew Remondet finished fifth in the men's shot put with a 12.00m/39'4.5". Francisco Roman III placed seventh (10.98m/36'0.25").
Jamie Polakoff earned third in the men's 1500m with a personal best of 4:06.67. Charlie McLawhorn took fourth (4:07.64), while Adam Aldahir picked up fifth (4:08.80).
Alexis Esteves finished fourth in the women's 400m (59.01). She also placed sixth in the 200m (26.46).
Francisco Roman III took ninth in the men's 100m (11.70) and the 200m (23.81).
Bethwel Tum placed fourth in the men's 800m (1:59.84). Iker Yturralde placed ninth in the same event (2:03.02).
Next, the Green Wave track and field program competes in a pair of meets next week. The program heads off to participate in the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Virginia from April 20-22. The team is also scheduled to travel to the Warhawk Classic from April 21-22 in Monroe, Louisiana.
