
Green Wave Opens AAC Championships with Temple

ORLANDO – The Tulane women's tennis team, seeded eighth in this week's American Athletic Conference Championships, faces ninth-seeded Temple Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET/8 CT on the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
The Green Wave (7-10 overall) last saw action on April 8, falling 4-3 at #55 USF. Alcorn State then canceled a doubleheader in New Orleans due to a lack of available student-athletes.
Brooke Theis has posted the top win-loss record in singles for Tulane at 9-5 this spring, playing mostly at the No. 6 position. In doubles, Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell are 8-5 at the No. 1 spot.
Temple (16-4 overall) faced Georgetown on Friday and came away with a 5-2 victory. Maiko Uchijima leads the Owls in the win column, boasting 24 victories dating back to the fall season. She and Jamie Wei are currently ranked 19th nationally in doubles thanks to a 28-2 mark.
The two teams did not face each other during the regular season.
