LAST TIME OUT FOR THE GREEN WAVE

Â
Chandler Welch (2-4) suffered the loss for the Wave surrendering three runs, two earned, on six hits in two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen. Welch also tallied six strikeouts while allowing three walks in his relief appearance.
Â
Cincinnati's starting pitcher Tommy Boba (2-1) earned the victory giving up just one unearned run on two hits and striking out six in four innings of work. On the bump the Bearcats registered nine strikeouts but issued four walks and hit three batters.
Â
The Tulane offense only managed four hits on the day and left runners on base in five of the seven innings. Brady Hebert led the team reaching base three times with two hits and a hit by pitch. Teo Banks and Gavin Schulz registered the other two hits in the game for the Green Wave with Schulz driving in the only run of the day.
Â
After the Bearcats jumped out to the early advantage with one run in the first and two more in the third, Tulane took advantage of free baserunners in fourth to cut into the deficit scoring one run on a bases loaded walk.
Â
In the sixth inning Cincinnati got the biggest swing of the day as Tommy O'Connor launched a three-run homerun over the center field wall putting Tulane down 6-1.
Â
The Green Wave tried to respond in the top of the seventh with back-to-back hits from Schulz and Hebert to lead off the frame, but both runners were ultimately left stranded. In the bottom of the inning the Bearcats kept the momentum swinging to score six runs on four hits and end the game with a run-rule after another three-run homer made the score 12-1.
