
Bowling Releases 2023-24 Schedule

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University bowling team and head coach Hayley Veitch announced the Green Wave's 2023-24 schedule on Thursday. The campaign consists of 10 regular season events, including a home-hosted tournament, the Colonial Lanes Classic, in Harahan.
"Our tournament schedules this season allows us to visit a few bowling centers we have not competed at before as a team," explained Coach Veitch. "We will see a variety of competitive teams at these events which will strengthen our RPI. We are competing in a USBC competition again this year which gives us another opportunity to make post season play again. The team and I are excited for the change of competing in Conference USA along with our fellow Southland Bowling League teams and the addition of the newly added Jacksonville State. It's going to be an exciting and competitive year!"
Tulane will open the season with the SWIBC in Dallas, Texas from October 7-8. The tournament host is West Texas A&M at City View Lanes.
The Olive and Blue will then head back home for the annual Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan on Oct. 13-15. The program finished sixth of 15 teams last season in a very competitive and highly ranked field. The team had a 6-7 overall record with 12,792 pins.
Tulane wraps up the month of October at the Destination Orlando in Orlando, Florida (Oct. 27-29). The tournament's host is Sacred Heart and Stephen F. Austin at Sky Lanes.
The final meet of the fall is the Motiv Ladyjack Classic in Kenosha, Wisconsin from Nov. 10-13. The host school is Stephen F. Austin at Sheridan Lanes.
The Green Wave come back from winter break and make a trip to Las Vegas for the Stormin' Blue and White Classic hosted by Mount St. Mary's from January 8-10. The Olive and Blue finished ninth at the same tournament last season.
The team travels to the Northeast to close out the month of January at the Northeast Classic in South New Jersey from Jan. 19-21. The tournament's host is Sacred Heart University at a yet to be announced location.
The month of February begins for Tulane at the Flyer Classic from Feb. 9-11 with the team's trip to Lockport, Illinois.
The month concludes for team with the Stallings Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. from Feb. 23-25. The tournament's host is North Carolina A&T at Strike and Spare It.
The team heads to the ISC Sectionals hosted by the USBC at a site to be announced from March 9-10.
The program has a quick turnaround the next week in Tennessee at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt at the Smyrna Bowling Center
The month concludes for the Green Wave with the Conference USA Championships from March 21-23 in Dallas, Texas.
The NCAA Championship Regionals are April 8-9 in a site that has yet to be determined. The NCAA Championship is being held from April 14-15 in Detroit, Michigan.
The ISC Tournament is from April 20-22 at a still to be announced site.
For the completed 2022-23 season, Morgan Gitlitz led the team with 7,992 total pins. Amelia Vasquez had the highest average on the squad at 195.8, while Mia Stolakis recorded the highest individual performance with her 266 against UMES (10/15). Tulane sported an overall 71-51 record this season. The program finished the season ranked No. 22 nationally.
The 2023-24 roster includes returners Morgan Gitlitz, Yarelis Alvarez, Sofiia Druchyna, Katharina Mente, Mia Stolakis, Cassidy Williams plus newcomers Juanelyz Solla, Emma Fetterman, Kristen Derr and Linnea Holcomb.
