
Wave Rolls Past Spring Hill in Exhibition Matchup

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane men's basketball rode a team-high 20 points from junior Gregg Glenn III to roll past Spring Hill College 86-66 in its lone exhibition game on Friday night in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave defeated the Badgers by shooting 43 percent from the field and dominating around the rim with 44 points in the paint.
Glenn III got his scoring going early tallying 13 of his 20 points in the first half. The Pompano Beach, Florida, product connected on 8-of-15 shots from the field including a pair of three-pointers to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.
Joining Glenn III in double figures were a pair of transfers Mari Jordan and Rowan Brumbaugh along with fellow junior Asher Woods. Jordan posted 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go with six boards. Brumbaugh recorded 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals while Woods added 10 points off the bench.
Ten players found the scoring column for the Green Wave in the contest as Tulane tallied 44 points in the paint, 25 bench points, 17 points off turnovers, and 17 second chance points.
Walter Peggs Jr. was the only player in double figures for the Badgers, but led the game with 25 points.
After the teams spent the first few minutes of the game feeling each other out, Tulane made its first run scoring 10 unanswered points to take a 21-12 lead with 9:20 to play in the first half. Spring Hill chipped into the lead briefly, but the Wave responded to extend its advantage out to 14 points.
Freshman Kam Williams put a cap on the first half draining a three just before the buzzer to send Tulane into the locker room with a 45-28 lead.
The Green Wave came out on the attack to open the second half pushing its advantage to as many as 24 points. Back-to-back threes from Kaleb Banks and Jordan highlighted an 8-0 run for Tulane with under 11 minutes to play that gave the Wave its largest lead of the night at 75-44.
Tulane continued to hold off any big scoring runs from the Badgers in the final minutes of the contest to ultimately close the preseason with an 88-68.
Up next, the Green Wave will begin the regular season with its home-opener on Monday, November 4, against Louisiana Christian. The game is set to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
