Baseball Announces 2025 Schedule
Dec 17, 2024 | Baseball
NEW ORLEANS – Jay Uhlman, Tulane's third-year head baseball coach officially announced his 2025 schedule.
The schedule will feature thirty-five home games in Greer Field at Turchin Stadium while only going on the road for twenty-one games. Tulane is set to visit a total of six different states this season with games in California, Florida, Mississippi, Texas, North Carolina, and Tennessee. This schedule will also include 2024 NCAA Tournament participants Nicholls State, Southern Miss, and East Carolina.
Game times at home will remain the same as the previous season. Early season non-conference weekend series first pitch start times will be 6:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. Once American Athletic Conference games begin first pitch start times will be 6:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 1 p.m. For the entirety of the year, first pitch starts for midweek home games will be 6:30 p.m.
"We are looking forward to kicking off the 2025 season and continuing the momentum our players and staff have created," Coach Uhlman explained. "We recognize that home games give teams a great advantage not only on the field but in the weight room, classroom and with development and recovery. We have a competitive program, beautiful stadium, great weather, and a destination opposing teams want to experience. The changing landscape of college athletics and revenue sharing has prompted me to create more of a home heavy schedule this year. Home field advantage matters in athletics and our guys loved seeing the increase in fan engagement last season. That energy and support made a HUGE difference to us. As we continue our upward trajectory, we want the Tulane faithful and students to come out in full force to the best bargain in town! We will see you all at GFATS, ROLL WAVE!"
Tulane, fresh off a second straight NCAA Regional, 36 wins, and becoming the first program in AAC history to win back-to-back tournament championships (which includes 6 straight AAC tournament wins), will play a full 56 game schedule. The historic year over year turnaround was the first time since 1998-99 that the program has been back-to-back champions. Tulane has been to consecutive trips to the regionals for the first time since 2015-16. A win in the Corvallis Regional secured Tulane's first victory in a regional since 2016. Additionally, the program won nine weekend series, won the Pelican Cup, earned an 8-4 record against teams in Louisiana, had five all conference players with four more being selected in the June MLB draft. The four drafted players were good for third-most by a non-power conference school.

Tulane begins their 2025 campaign with a three-game home set against Omaha on opening weekend beginning February 14th. This will be the first time that Tulane has faced off with the Mavericks. The first midweek tilt of the season will see Tulane, the reigning Pelican Cup Champions, open their cup defense with game 1 at home against UNO on February 18. The second game of the cup series will take place across the city at UNO on March 25 and conclude back at Tulane on May 6. The Green Wave are 87-72 all-time against the Privateers.
The in-state rivalries continue the next day, February 18, as the Green Wave travels to Hammond to take on Southeastern. The Lions will return the trip on April 8th to wrap up the home and home series. Tulane leads the all-time series with the Lions, 81-41.
Tulane welcomes West Coast Conference member, Loyola Marymount, in week two from February 21-23. The two schools haven't faced each other since 2007. Following the series with the Lions, the Wave take on another traditional in-state rival down in Thibodaux against Nicholls on February 25. This will be the first of three midweek games the two will play. Nicholls will return to Uptown on March 11 and April 29. The Green Wave won all three games against Nicholls last season including a 3-0 victory in the Corvallis Regional. Tulane leads the all-time series with the Colonels 67-27.
The team then heads west to take on Pepperdine in scenic Malibu, California from February 28 – March 2. This is a return trip from Pepperdine's visit to New Orleans last season. Tulane is 17-11 all-time against Pepperdine including last season's series win. The road trip wraps up with a single game against traditional Big West power, Long Beach State, on March 3. Tulane is 3-3 all-time against the Dirtbags although this will be the first meeting between the schools since 2018.
The following weekend, March 7-9, Tulane returns Uptown and begins a 12-game homestand starting with North Dakota State. This series will be the first-ever meeting between the schools.
Nicholls then comes to town on March 11th with Jackson State coming in the following night, March 12, to complete the double midweek.
The fifth week of the campaign is the final full non-conference week and sees Tulane welcome in Big East member, and 2023 Regional participant Xavier for a three-game set from March 14-16. Tulane is 10-0 all-time against the Musketeers with the last matchup coming back in 2015.
The final midweek contest prior to conference play will be March 18th against Lamar, from the Southland Conference, fresh off a 44-win season.
The final series of the 12-game homestand will also mark the beginning of AAC play against Wichita State from March 21-23. This is a rematch of the AAC Tournament Championship game where Jackson Linn's ninth-inning home run gave the Green Wave a thrilling 11-10 walk off win and secured the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Regional.

Following the conference opener, Tulane begins a five-game road trip starting with the second game of the Pelican Cup across town at UNO on March 25. Tulane's first road conference series of the season ends the month of March as the program travels to Tampa, Florida to take on South Florida from March 28-30.
The team's first of two road games against Southern Miss kicks off the month of April on the first. This past season, the Golden Eagles won a pair of games in the Knoxville Regional and lost to eventual 2024 National Champion Tennessee. The Green Wave will quickly return home and complete their last double midweek with the first game against Northwestern State since 2013 on April 1. The game will kick off an eight-game homestand.
Rice comes to town the following weekend from April 4-6. Tulane won the series at Rice last season which marked the first time a Tulane team had ever done that. This season will mark the 20th anniversary of the 2005 College World Series team which defeated Rice in the New Orleans Regional at Zephyr Field to advance to Omaha. The weekend festivities will include honoring this legendary team. The homestand wraps up with Southeastern Louisiana coming to town on April 8th just ahead of UAB's visit to GFATS from April 11-13
Tulane then embarks on a seven-day road trip to take on UTSA (April 17-19), Southern Miss (Aprill 22), and wraps up with a trip to Greenville, North Carolina for a showdown with ECU from April 25-27. Tulane swept the Top 25 ranked Pirates last season for the first time since 2005, which also marked Tulane's highest ranked sweep of an opponent since 1991, which at that time happened to be sixth-ranked ECU. The Pirates are the defending Regular Season Conference champions and hosted the 2024 Greenville Regional.
The Wave wraps up April and its midweek series with Nicholls on April 29. The stretch run and month of May begins with a visit from conference foe Florida Atlantic (May 2-4), followed by the conclusion of the Pelican Cup series, marking the completion of the midweek portion of the season's schedule.
The team then travels to Memphis (May 9-11) before returning home to close out the regular season, while having graduation and senior day at home against Charlotte (May 15-17).
The AAC Baseball Championships once again take place from May 20th through the 25th in Clearwater, Florida at BayCare Park, the home of the Philadelphia Phillies. The NCAA Regional Selection Show is Monday, May 26th while play begins on May 30th. The Super Regionals and Men's College World Series are to follow.
