Tulane Travels to Hammond for Tuesday Tussle

HAMMOND – Tulane will play its second road midweek game of the season Tuesday evening when the Green Wave visits Southeastern Louisiana for a 6 p.m. affair at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

The Green Wave (10-6) will look to bounce back from two heartbreaking contests over the weekend, dropping one-run games on the road at UL-Lafayette on Saturday (5-4) and Sunday (4-3) after taking Friday's series opener 11-8.Â
First pitch on Tuesday is scheduled for 6 p.m. General admission and hot dogs are all $2.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor will have the radio call on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield. The game will air on 88.3 FM WRBH, along with the Tulane Athletics and Varsity Network apps.

Airtime is 15 minutes before first pitch.

The Green Wave will send LHP Jake Saum to the mound. He is 0-2 this season with a 13.50 ERA. He has allowed 11 runs on 10 hits in seven and a third innings with nine strikeouts and nine walks in 2024.

Southeastern will counter with right-hander Aiden Vosburg (0-2, 6.75 ERA). He has yielded eight runs (seven earned) in nine and a third innings with 10 strikeouts against three walks thus far.

The Lions are 11-6 this season and is coming off winning two of three at home over North Dakota State. Shea Thomas (.361), Jude Hall (.341) and TJ Salvaggio (.268) are the Lions' leading hitters. Thomas and Hall have both hit four home runs, pacing the squad, while Thomas' 15 RBIs are tops on the team.

Tulane left fielder Jackson Linn has rebounded from an injury-riddled 2023 campaign with an impressive start to 2024. The Boston native currently stands second in the league in slugging percentage (.810) and third in batting average (.405) and OPS (1.267).

His four home runs this season leads the team and is tied for eighth in the conference.Â
