Jaguars Come to Turchin for Wednesday Battle

NEW ORLEANS – The Green Wave will step out of conference play again on Wednesday when the Jaguars of South Alabama visit Greer Field at Turchin Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. CT first pitch.

Both teams will enter the game at 20-16 overall.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Jack Benjamin and Ron Swoboda handling the broadcast duties. Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor will have the radio call on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield. The game will air on 88.3 FM WRBH, along with the Tulane Athletics and Varsity Network apps.

Airtime is 15 minutes before first pitch.

Wednesday's starting pitching matchup will feature the Green Wave's Will Clements (1-2, 5.46) against South Alabama's Zach Stevens (0-0, 9.72 ERA).

Tulane first baseman Brady Marget leads the team in batting average (.334), hits (46) and total bases (71). Catcher Colin Tuft has the highest OPS on the team (.963), to go with 36 runs scored and seven stolen bases. Third baseman Gavin Schulz has a team-high 10 doubles and 30 RBI alongside left fielder Jackson Linn's three triples and .578 slugging percentage. The team's leading home run hitter is center fielder Teo Banks (eight), while second baseman Connor Rasmussen paces the squad in walks (26) and on-base percentage (.447).
Micah Morgan hits .326 with an on-base percentage of .483 to lead the Jaguars but Joseph Sullivan is at the top in OPS (.944) and stolen bases (13). Will Turner's 33 runs scored are best, as are his 42 walks. Brennan Holt has 12 doubles on the season, while the triumvirate of Turner, Sullivan and Lucas Ismaili all have seven homers. Sullivan and Ismaili are also tied in RBI (26) and the latter is best in total bases (62).
