Tulane, UNO Square Off in Second Round of Pelican Cup

NEW ORLEANS – The second round of the Pelican Cup is on tap Tuesday at Maestri Field in New Orleans, pitting visiting Tulane against host UNO.
The Green Wave won the first round by a 6-3 score on Greer Field in Turchin Stadium back on February 27.
Tulane comes in sporting a record of 17-15 overall, while the Privateers are 18-13.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor will have the radio call on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield. The game will air on 88.3 FM WRBH, along with the Tulane Athletics and Varsity Network apps.
Airtime is 15 minutes before first pitch.
Tuesday's starting pitching matchup will feature the Green Wave's Will Clements (1-2, 5.68) against UNO's Tyler LeBlanc (0-0, 9.90).
Tulane third baseman Gavin Schulz leads the team with a .328 batting average, .951 OPS, 10 doubles, 26 RBI and 66 total bases. Catcher Colin Tuft has a team-high 27 runs scored to go with first baseman Brady Marget's 39 hits. Left fielder Jackson Linn paces the team with three triples and a .594 slugging percentage and center fielder Teo Banks has seven home runs.
Mitchell Sanford and Miguel Useche both hit .373 to lead the Privateers this season. Victor Castillo's 1.129 OPS is a team-high figure. Sanford also is tops with 32 runs scored, 47 hits, 12 doubles, seven homers, 37 RBI, 84 total bases, a .667 slugging percentage and 10 stolen bases (in 10 attempts).
