Wave Wraps up Midweek Slate with Crosstown Trek

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane baseball team will play its final midweek game of 2024 on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. when it takes on UNO at Maestri Field.

The Green Wave (26-22) is a series loss over the weekend to American Athletic Conference foe Memphis.

UNO (26-21) took two of three from Southland Conference opponent Southeastern Louisiana on the road last weekend.Â

Tuesday's contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ and will pit Tulane LHP Billy Price (2-2, 4.13 ERA) against UNO RHP Elijah Karney (0-0, 8.22 ERA).

Tulane has already locked up the annual Pelican Cup by virtue of its 6-3 home win on February 27 and a 7-4 victory on April 9 at Maestri.

Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor will also have the call on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield. The game will air on 88.3 FM WRBH, along with the Tulane Athletics and Varsity Network apps. Airtime for all the games is 15 minutes before first pitch.

UNO's Mitchell Sanford is hitting .383 with an OPS of 1.195, 49 runs, 72 hits, 17 doubles, four triples, 14 homers, 59 RBI, 139 total bases, a .739 slugging percentage and has 13 stolen bases in 14 attempts. Victor Castillo has drawn a team-high 45 walks and has an on-base percentage of .525.Â

Tulane first baseman Brady Marget leads the team in batting average (.342), OPS (.971), hits (64), RBI (44), total bases (99) and on-base percentage (.442). Catcher Colin Tuft has scored 53 runs, boasts a team-high 36 walks and 10 stolen bases. Second baseman Connor Rasmussen and center fielder Teo Banks lead the team with 12 doubles apiece, while Banks is tops in home runs (12) to go with Jackson Linn's .586 slugging percentage.
