Bowling Releases 2024-25 Schedule
Jul 22, 2024 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University bowling team, under the direction of head coach Hayley Veitch, announced the team's 2024-25 schedule on Monday.
The campaign consists of eight regular season events, including a home-hosted tournament, the Colonial Lanes Classic, in Harahan. The program is also scheduled to host the post-season Conference USA Championships for the second straight season and compete in the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championship (ISC) Sectionals in March.
"Our regular season schedule features a mixture of six familiar tournament venues, coupled with two new additions," Coach Veitch explained. "Typically, the Colonial Lanes Classic has been in mid-October, but due to a popular concert we were forced to move it to November. This will give us more preparation time since we will be six weeks into our fall season. In late March, we are very fortunate to be able to host the Conference USA tournament again at Colonial Lanes. With the addition of Wichita State, Conference USA is now up to 10 extremely competitive teams."
Tulane will open the season with Destination Orlando in Orlando, Florida from October 18-20 at AMF Sky Lanes. The tournament is being hosted by Sacred Heart.
The program competes the following weekend with the Southern Queens hosted in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at All-Star Lanes from October 25-27. The tournament's host is Southern University.
The team then heads to the Kat Klash in Houston, Texas at Emerald Lanes from November 1-3. The tournament is being hosted by Sam Houston State.
The Olive and Blue will then return home for the annual Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan from November 15-17 in the final tournament of the fall. The program finished fourth of 16 teams last season with an overall record of 10-3.
The month of January starts for Tulane at the Northeast Classic in New Castle, Delaware at the Bowlerama in a tournament hosted by Sacred Heart from January 17-19.
The Green Wave end the month at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite in St. Louis, Missouri from Jan. 31 – February 2 at Shrewsbury Lanes in a tournament hosted by Maryville.
Tulane returns to the Flyer Classic this year from February 7-9 in Lockport, Illinois at the Strike & Spare II. The host institution is Lewis University.
The program finishes the month at the Bulldog Classic from February 28 – March 2 in Fort Worth, Texas at Cityview Lanes in a tournament hosted by Louisiana Tech.
The team heads to the ISC Sectionals hosted by the USBC at a site to be announced from March 8-9.
The month concludes for the Green Wave with the Conference USA Championships from March 20-23 in Harahan at Colonial Lanes.
The NCAA Championship Regionals are April 3-5 at one of four sites (Arlington, Lansing, Pittsburgh and Rochester. The NCAA Championship is being held from April 11-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Suncoast Bowling Center.
The ISC/Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) Tournament is from April 17-19 at Southpoint in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tulane finished the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 63-43 (59.4 winning percentage) and ranked No. 15 in the final National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll. The team qualified and competed in the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships from April 18-19 in Kentucky. The program also saw Morgan Gitlitz competed in the Intercollegiate Singles Championships this season.
Last season, Mia Stolakis became the first Tulane bowler to ever qualify for the Junior USA Team with her performance at US Team Trials last January.
