Men's and Women's Teams Finish Third at Nicholls Invitational

THIBODAUX, La. - The Tulane men's and women's cross country programs posted top-three overall team finishes at the Nicholls Invitational here Saturday morning.
Sophomore Anna Schadel delivered a strong performance, smashing her personal best with a time of 18:01.00 to place runner-up in the women's 5k, leading the Wave women to a third-place team finish.
Meanwhile, Lili Grant followed closely as Tulane's second finisher, placing sixth overall with a personal best of 18:06.84.
Macy Turcotte, Morgan Matthews, and Jasper Newton rounded out Tulane's top-five finishers, each securing a spot in top 20. Turcotte claimed 15th at 18:49.68, followed closely by Matthews in 16th at 18:49.68. Newton clocked 18:58.18 to finish 20th.
For the Wave men, sophomore Albert Tawil-Brown led Tulane in the men's four-mile, crossing the line at 20:28.19 to secure 13th overall.
Similar to the women, the next four male finishers helped secure the team's overall third-place finish. Arturs Lapins and Roman Schrader weren't far behind Tawil-Brown, with all three placing in the top 20. Lapins ran 20:32.19 to take 15th, while Schrader followed at 20:43.46, placing 17th.
Adam Aldahir was next to cross the line for the Olive and Blue, toeing the line at 21:42.83 for 31st. Henry Hammel rounded out the top five finishers, running 22:02.12 to claim 34th.

Next up, the Green Wave will split between the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront in Chicago, Illionis, and the Lion-Up Invitational in Hammond, Louisiana on Oct. 4th.
