Green Wave Sweeps SEISA Fall Championships

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Tulane sailing completed a clean sweep of the SEISA Fall Championships for the sixth consecutive time on Sunday in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Green Wave won the open championship for the sixth-straight time in completed regattas and the women's title for the seventh-straight year.

The Wave dominated both championship regattas starting with the women's fleet race championship where Tulane finished with 28 total points through eight rotations. The Green Wave claimed first place by 34 points winning eight of the 16 total races across two divisions.

In the A Division of the women's championship the duo of Sophia Dias and Caitlin Briggs paced all sailors with just 10 points. Dias and Briggs combined to win six races and finish in the top two in all eight. Ashley Hoguet, Allie Capsso, and Charlotte Casey teamed up in the B Division to place second overall with 18 points earning a pair of race victories in the process.

It was another commanding performance by the Green Wave in the open championship taking the title with 51 total points through 12 rotations. Tulane rolled past the competition to win the title by 66 points after earning a win in all 12 races between the two divisions.

The pairing of Alejo Di Blasi with Caitlin Briggs controlled the waters from the B Division by winning all 12 of their races in the division to end the regatta with just 12 points. In the A Division Ryan Ehnot, Eliza Corral, Sophia Adams, and Maura McPartlin placed second overall with 39 points.

Up next, Tulane will host the Baldwin Wood regatta on Saturday, November 1. Racing is slated to start at 10 a.m. on Lake Pontchartrain.
