Nov 10, 2025 | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball will look to start 3-0 for the fourth consecutive season as it hits the road for the first time to take on Louisiana-Lafayette in the Cajundome Tuesday night. The Green Wave has started each of the past three seasons and five of its six seasons under Head Coach Ron Hunter with a 3-0 record.
The game between the Wave and the Ragin' Cajuns is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.7 The Ticket with Paul Boron or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.
This marks the 26th all-time meeting between Tulane and Louisiana-Lafayette with the Green Wave leading the series 22-3. The Wave has won the last three matchups in Lafayette to hold a 4-1 advantage over the Ragin' Cajuns on the road.
The Green Wave is 91-62 all-time against teams from the Sun Belt despite holding a 23-34 record on the road. Tulane is already 1-0 against the Sun Belt this season following Saturday's 79-71 victory over Texas State. The Wave has won six games in a row against teams from the Sun Belt with its last loss coming on December 8, 2018, at South Alabama 60-81. The last time Tulane lost on the road in the series was December 20, 1930, 20-29.
In its last time out, Tulane erased a 20-point deficit to come back and defeat Texas State 79-71 at home on Saturday behind a career performance from Rowan Brumbaugh. The redshirt junior scored a career-high 33 points to help the Green Wave notch its first comeback victory of at least 20 points since it overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat Nicholls 76-69 on December 18, 2017. The come from behind win was also the largest by the Wave of the Ron Hunter era since it beat Wichita State 95-90 in overtime on January 25, 2023, after trailing by 18.
Brumbaugh's performance against the Bobcats helped him earn American Conference Player of the Week after he averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game in the first week of the season for the Wave. He ranks third in the conference in points and three-pointers per game and fifth in steal per game through one week of competition.
Louisiana-Lafayette enters the game with a 1-1 record on the season after defeating Southeastern Louisiana 58-52 at home on Friday, November 7. The Ragin' Cajuns are averaging just 61.0 points on 46.6 percent shooting from the floor and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc through two games this season.
The duo of Jamyron Keller and Jaxon Olvera lead the attack for the Louisiana-Lafayette. Keller averages a team-high 17.0 points per game while Olvera follows with 16.5 points per game.
Following the contest at Louisiana-Lafayette, the Green Wave will return to Uptown to host crosstown rival UNO on Friday, November 14. Tipoff between Tulane and the Privateers is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
