
Tulane Dominates Baldwin Wood Regatta

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane sailing rolled through its final home regatta of the fall claiming the top five spots in the Baldwin Wood on Saturday. The Green Wave fielded eight teams in the regatta earning the victory for the second year in a row on the waters of Lake Pontchartrain.

The freshman duo of Lillie Foster and Sabrina Casagrande led the way for the Wave on the water taking the title for the Baldwin Wood. Foster and Casagrande finished with 33 total points through 10 races to secure the first-place performance.

Ashley Hoguet and Caroline Caudron were the next pairing for Tulane in the final standings. Hoguet and Caudron claimed second place overall ending with 43 total points. Following close behind were Taylor Bartell and Cate Anderson in third with 45 points, Sophia Dias with Caitlin Briggs in fourth with 46 points, and Eliza Corral with Elizabeth Struve with 47 points in fifth.

The Green Wave rounded out the regatta with teams in eighth, ninth, and 10th. Allie Capasso raced with Megan Cassidy to place eighth while Sabrina Anderson raced with Sophia Adams and Maura McPartlin to land ninth. The final team in the standings for the Wave was Martha Hughes and Parker Kumler who closed the day in 10th place overall.

Up next, Tulane will be represented by six sailors at the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships in Norfolk, Virginia. Ava Anderson and Oakley Cunningham will race for the Green Wave in the women's championship while Hamilton Barclay, Alejo Di Blasi, Tate Christopher, and Matheo Capasso will compete in the open championship. The championship regatta will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 8-9.
