Tulane Holds Fourth After Round One in Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational

GREENSBORO, Ga. – Tulane golf ended the opening round of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational holding fourth place out of 15 teams on Friday. The Green Wave recorded a team score of 303 (+14) in the first 18 holes to sit just five strokes behind the leader No. 26 Florida.

As a team the Wave ended the first round second in the tournament on par 4s averaging 4.27 strokes on those holes and landed third in total pars with 56 on Friday. Matilde Innocenti paced the team on par 4s as she finished the round even on the 10 par 4s on the course. Meanwhile, Tonka Zacharovska led the way for Tulane in total pars as she tallied 16 in her first 18 holes of the tournament.

Innocenti led the way overall for the Green Wave on Friday as she finished the day tied for seventh overall after carding a 74 (+2) in the first round. The duo of Zacharovska and Francesca Pompa followed closely behind for the Wave tied for 12th in the field each posting a 75 (+3) on the opening day of the tournament.

Next up for Tulane was freshman Cristina Albertazzi who finished the round tied for 42nd with a first round score of 79 (+7). Gabriella Gilrowski rounded out the field for the Green Wave through the first 18 hole as she posted an 83 (+11) to sit tied for 72nd overall.

Round two of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational will tee off Saturday morning from the National Golf Club in Greensboro, Georgia.
