Baseball Defeats Florida Atlantic 6-4 on Sunday

New Orleans – The Tulane baseball team (28-20, 11-10 AAC) won the third game of the series over visiting Florida Atlantic (31-16, 12-9 AAC) by a 6-4 score on Sunday, May 4, on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Blaise Wilcenski (5-3) started and went the first 4.1 innings to earn the win in a pre-determined pitch count. He allowed four hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Carter Benbrook took over in the fifth and threw 2.2 innings with four runs allowed (three earned) and two strikeouts. Julius Ejike-Charles was unable to retire man in allowing a walk and a hit. Jacob Moore closed the game out with two scoreless innings with two strikeouts.
Theo Bryant IV had two hits and two RBIs plus a run scored. Kaikea Harrison tallied a three hit performance with a run scored. James Agabedis III had a hit, a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Tanner Chun totaled a hit and a run scored plus a walk. Hugh Pinkney had a pair of hits. Matthias Haas had a hit and a walk. Gavin Schulz scored a run and had a walk. Connor Rasmussen drove in a run. Jason Wachs reached base safely four times with a hit and three walks plus scored a run.Â
Tulane scored first with three runs in the second inning on Agabedis' RBI double followed by a two-run home run from Bryant.
The Green Wave added three runs in the fourth inning on a bases loaded walk to Rasmussen, a wild pitch to score Wachs and an infield single from Pinkney.
FAU broke through for a run, 6-1, in the sixth inning on Nick Romano's RBI ground out.
The Owls scored three in the top of the seventh to draw to within two, 6-4, on a pinch hit single by Carter Brady, an RBI ground out by Marshall Lipsey and an infield single by John Martinez.
Moore entered in the eighth inning and shut the door to give Tulane a 6-4 victory. Â
Next, Tulane keeps the homestand going and hosts UNO on Tuesday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
