Tulane Finishes 15th at Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla. – Tulane women's golf moved up one spot in the standings on Saturday to end the Schooner Fall Classic in 15th place at the Belmar Golf Club. The Green Wave finished the 54-hole tournament with a total team score of 886 (+46).

Freshman Sophia Macias was the best player of the weekend for the Wave as she posted two rounds under par to land tied for 30th overall with a three-round score of 212 (+2). After opening the tournament with a 75 (+5) in the first round she shot back-to-back rounds under par with a 68 (-2) and a 69 (-1). Macias finished second overall in the field and led Tulane with 14 birdies over the weekend.

The next player on the leaderboard for the Green Wave was Francesca Pompa who ended play tied for 69th after shooting a three-round score of 221 (+11). She posted rounds of 73 (+3) and 72 (+2) on Saturday before closing the tournament with a 76 (+6) in the final round Sunday.

Gabriella Gilrowski finished the Schooner Fall Classic tied for 77th overall with a final score of 225 (+15 – 73, 79, 73). She was followed by Cristina Albertazzi who shot a 54-hole total of 228 (+18 – 79, 73, 76) to land tied for 85th.

Rounding out the group for Tulane was Tonka Zacharovska who closed the tournament with a total score of 242 (+32 – 79, 85, 78).

UP NEXT
The Green Wave will head to Denver, Colorado, to compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Denver. The 54-hole tournament will be held over three days from October 3-5.
