
Baseball Has Five CSC Academic All-District ® Selections

Greenwood, Indiana – The Tulane baseball program saw five of its student-athletes honored nationally as members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District ® Division Baseball Team, the organization announced on June 2.
Tulane's five Baseball Academic All-District selections this year are pitcher Trey Cehajic, pitcher Sam Larson, first baseman Trent Liolios, pitcher Jake Toporek, and pitcher Blaise Wilcenski. All five were first time selections at Tulane.
Cehajic, a graduate student from Shreveport, Louisiana, pitched in 16 games with 11 starts this season on the mound. He won three games while throwing 55.2 innings with 49 strikeouts. He was also named the American Conference Pitcher of the Week on March 2, 2026.
Larson, a junior from Lake Forest, Illinois, pitched in 28 games with three starts as a pitcher. He led the team with four saves while recording 54 strikeouts in 41 innings work. He limited opponents to a .211 batting average against.
Liolios, a graduate student from Newport Beach, California, appeared in 52 games with 47 starts at first base. He scored 30 runs on 43 hits including 14 doubles, three home runs and 36 RBIs. He had a slugging percentage of .402 and a on-base percentage of .366 with 26 walks. He also stole four bases in as many attempts.
Toporek, a graduate student from Dana Point, California, appeared in 20 games with seven starts on the mound. He threw 43 innings and recorded 40 strikeouts. He was named to the American's Weekly Honor Roll on March 31.
Wilcenski, a graduate student from Waterford, Michigan, appeared in 19 games and went 2-2 out of the bullpen. He threw 42.2 innings with 27 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .271 batting average against.
In order to be a member of the CSC Academic All-District Team, all five student-athlete needed to have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or above, be a sophomore or higher in academic class plus are required to have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's games or having started 66 percent as a position player or appeared in at least 17 games or having thrown 35 innings as a pitcher.
The College Sports Communicators, formerly the College Sports Information Director of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The five Academic All-District ® honorees now advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late June.
Next, Tulane prepares for the off-season and returns to the field in spring of 2027. In 2026, the Green Wave went 25-31 with a mark of 10-17 in league play. The team had an All-Conference selection in Jason Wachs plus were honored weekly by the league office nine times.
