Jun 22, 2026 | Baseball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Head Coach Jay Uhlman announced the addition of Chris Wojick to his staff as the team's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator on Monday.
"Chris has been a winner at every stop in his career, advancing through the coaching ranks while succeeding in environments where resources were not always abundant," explained Coach Uhlman. "What he has helped accomplish within the programs he has served is thoroughly impressive. He has consistently built winning cultures through tireless recruiting efforts, strong player development, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Along the way, he has earned the respect of his peers and developed meaningful, lasting relationships with players and staff."
Wojick recently completed his fourth year at Yale University, where he served as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator in 2026. During his tenure, he oversaw the development of one of the Northeast's top pitching staffs, with Yale leading the Ivy League in ERA for two consecutive seasons, including a fifth-place national finish in 2025.
"Tulane has always been a place I have admired since I was younger," Wojick stated. "My family and I are very excited to join the Tulane community. It truly is a special place that we are looking forward to calling home."
His coaching accomplishments include producing the Ivy League and Northeast Pitcher of the Year in both 2025 (Jack Ohman) and 2026 (Tate Evans), 2025 National Freshman Pitcher of the Year (Perfect Game), coaching 10 all-conference selections, and leading a pitching staff that consistently ranked among the conference's best in multiple categories.
In 2026, Wojick's staff guided Yale to its second straight Ivy League Regular Season Title, its first-ever Ivy League Tournament Championship, and its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017. The Bulldogs led the league in strikeouts (375), batting average against (.253), K/9 (9.01), BB/9 (3.87), WHIP (1.40) and wins (30).
In 2025, Yale's pitching staff led the league in ERA (3.59, 5th nationally), hits allowed per nine innings (8.1, 22nd nationally), K:BB ratio (2.36, 40th nationally), and WHIP (1.31, 17th nationally). The team also reduced opponents' batting average to .238 and OPS to .665 from the previous year. Jack Ohman was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Region, Second Team All-American, and National Freshman of the Year. Colton Shaw earned First Team All-Ivy honors and was a 7th-round draft pick by the Mariners. Danny Cohen and Tate Evans also received all-conference honors.
In 2024, Wojick's second season at Yale, the pitching staff made notable improvements, leading the league in ERA (4.77), hits allowed per nine (8.7), WHIP (1.48), and batting average against (.255). Colton Shaw and Tate Evans earned Second Team All-Ivy honors.
Wojick's first year at Yale (2023) saw the Bulldogs lead the Ivy League in fewest walks per nine (4.39), ranking second in ERA (5.29), and second in WHIP (1.54). Reid Easterly was named first-team All-Ivy after leading the league in ERA, while Colton Shaw received second-team honors.
Prior to Yale, Wojick served as associate head coach at Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) in 2022, after coaching at ECSU since 2018-19 and returning there after seven seasons at Wesleyan University. He also coached men's golf at ECSU.
At ECSU, Wojick's pitching staff led NCAA Division III in ERA in 2022 (2.91), with the team ranking in the top five nationally in hits allowed per nine, shutouts, WHIP, and walks allowed per nine. In 2021, ECSU ranked second nationally in strikeouts per nine and sixth in shutouts. His first season in 2019 saw ECSU lead the Little East in strikeout-to-walk ratio and rank second in strikeouts per nine.
At Wesleyan, Wojick helped the Cardinals achieve consecutive 30-win seasons—the program's second and third—earning NCAA Regional berths in 2014 and 2015. Wesleyan's pitching staff set program records, including a 2.70 team ERA in 2015. Five players under his coaching signed professional contracts.
As a player, Wojick transferred to ECSU in 2008 after three semesters at the Division I level—at the University of Maine and Marist College. He contributed to four NCAA Tournament appearances, two Little East titles, and one conference tournament championship. He appeared in over 20 games each season before becoming a starting pitcher and team captain in 2011. As a freshman, he made an immediate impact, earning third-team All-New England Region and second-team All-Little East honors with a 1.49 ERA and six saves.
Wojick earned a B.S. in Business Administration from ECSU in 2011. A graduate of Montville High School, he was inducted into the Montville High School Hall of Fame in 2024. He is joined in New Orleans by his wife, Courtney, and two daughters, Paisley and Mackenna.
