Career: A local product who blossomed into one of the finest starters in recent memory for the Green Wave after spending the second half of his senior year as the Friday starter…went 13-10 with a 3.48 ERA with two saves in 60 games including 32 starts across four years…tallied 250.2 career innings with 175 strikeouts and only 60 walks…finished his career fourth in school history in most ground outs (340), fifth in fewest walks allowed per nine innings (2.15), tied for fifth in combined shutouts (6), 12th in lowest opponent batting average (.257), tied for 13th in most shutouts (2), 14th in most at-bats against (955), 14th in most fly outs (189), 18th in lowest ERA (3.48), 20th in most innings pitched (250.2), 25th in most appearances (60) and 25th in most games started (32)…was a 33rd-round draft pick (981st overall) of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Personal: Born Emerson Robert Gibbs on June 25, 1994...the son of Lawrence and Marian Gibbs...has one brother; Brian, and five sisters; Prudence, Gillian, Hillary, Lauren and Melissa...brother, Brian, played for the Green Wave from 1991-94 and was named to the Metro Conference All-Tournament team as he helped guide the Green Wave to the 1994 South Regional...Brian graduated from Tulane in 1994...sister, Melissa, has received two degrees from Tulane.
