NEW ORLEANS – Tulane will play its first American Athletic Conference road game of the 2016-17 season and rings in the New Year when it travels to 23rd-ranked Cincinnati on Sunday, Jan. 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT) and the game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.

Tulane Quick Notes:
• The Bearcats are the second ranked opponent the Green Wave have faced this season and the first since taking on then-No. 6 North Carolina in the first game of the season. Tulane's last road game against a team ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll resulted in a 74-53 loss in Dallas, Texas at No. 24 SMU, while its last win came on Dec. 22, 1999 over No. 25 NC State.
• In six games during the month of December, senior Ryan Smith scored in double-figures three times, averaging 11 points on 29-for-43 (.674) shooting and 2.2 blocks in 26 minutes per game. In 90 games and 53 starts during his first three seasons, Smith scored 10 points just one time.
• Through Dec. 30, redshirt junior Cameron Reynolds ranks tied for third in the conference in three-pointers made (34), fifth in scoring (15.8), sixth in minutes per game (34.2), eighth in three-point field goal percentage and 10th in free throw percentage (.744).

• Tulane (3-10, 0-1 AAC) owned a one-point lead at halftime, but UCF (10-3, 1-0 AAC) used 54 second-half points to rally for an 85-72 victory over the Green Wave in its American Athletic Conference opener. Kain Harris led all scorers with a career-high 25 points and grabbed six rebounds off the bench, while Melvin Frazier contributed 13 points and a game-high three steals. Malik Morgan added 12 points, seven boards and three assists. The Green Wave outscored the Knights, 20-10, off turnovers and 30-21 off the bench, but were topped, 38-28, in the paint. Matt Williams led four UCF (10-3, 1-0 AAC) scorers to reach double-figures with 21 points, as A.J. Davis compiled a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

• Cincinnati is led by junior forward and reigning conference player of the week Gary Clark who scored a career-high 26 points with 10 rebounds against Marshall on Dec. 22. Most recently, he tied for a team high with 11 points in the win over the Owls on Wednesday.
