Cincinnati scored the first five points of the game and eventually opened up a 13-4 lead on a Caupain three-pointer at the 14:10 mark. The Green Wave responded with an 8-0 scoring run, capped by a Smith layup with 12:05 to go, to cut the deficit to just one point.
The Bearcats turned their offense into high gear from that point, ending the half on a 25-10 run and took a 38-22 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Cincinnati created its first 20-point lead, 57-37, on a Caupain three with 11:50 remaining in the game, before generating its largest point margin of the game – 22 points – with the score 62-40 and 10:14 left on the clock.
Reynolds finished off his flawless second-half shooting performance with his second three-pointer of the game with less than one minute to go.
Tulane will begin a two-game road swing beginning at Houston on Tuesday, Jan. 24. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Hofheinz Pavilion, and the game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
