NEW ORLEANS - The (-/RV) Tulane women's basketball team (15-7, 6-3) seeks to avenge an earlier loss this season when they host (RV/RV) Temple (16-5, 6-2) on Sunday, Feb. 5, in what is also a battle for third place in the conference standings. Sunday's big game will tip-off at 1:05 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network, inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. During the game, the Green Wave will also be celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day, recognizing current female student-athletes, women's basketball alums, and local attorney and Tulane women's hoops mentor Suzy Montero.
SERIES HISTORY - TEMPLE
• Tulane is just 1-5 against Temple in their all-time series, as the Owls have won four straight.
• Tulane's lone win came at home in the two's first meeting in The American. The Wave prevailed with a 77-63 victory on Feb. 7, 2015.
• Back on Jan. 8, Temple defeated Tulane 86-71 in Philadelphia. The difference maker came in the first quarter, where the Owls outscored the Wave, 21-7. The two sides were dead even throughout the remainder. Morgan and Vorpahl combined for 42 points in the loss.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
• Temple enters Sunday's contest with a 16-5 overall record and 6-2 mark in AAC play.
• Temple boasted a 12-game winning streak before losing 55-51 to USF on Jan. 29, then 97-69 to UConn on Feb. 1.
• Owls rank 14th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game (17.0) and 33rd in rebounding average (42.5).
• Feyonda Fitzgerald leads the conference and ranks sixth nationally with her 7.5 assists per game. Also ranks 25th in the country with her 101 made free throws. She leads the team with her 17.4 ppg.
• Tanaya Atkinson ranks 7th in the nation with her 5.0 offensive boards per game. Also averages 12.2 ppg.
• Alliya Butts (15.0 ppg) and Donnaizh Fountain (13.1 ppg) also average double-digit points for the Owls.

THE MORGAN TRAIL
Morgan is on the best streak of her career, recording seven straight games of 20+ points. She is the only player in The American to achieve said feat. In that span, the junior has averaged 24.0 points on 47.0 percent shooting. Morgan is now up to 14 total 20+ performances this season after producing 13 total last season.
In fact, during the Wave's current three-game win streak, Morgan is nearly averaging a double- double with 26.7 points and 9.7 rebounds, raising her scoring (18.5-->19.6) and rebounding (4.3-->5.0) averages.
Morgan's now 19.6 ppg ranks 2nd in The American and 21st in the country. Her 158 total made field goals ranks 19th while her 432 total points ranks 17th.
Lastly, Morgan has achieved 15 straight games with double-digit points, which bests her previous high of 13 set last season. The streak started just two days after being held scoreless for the first time of her career at Middle Tennessee where she collected her first 30+ point effort with 34 points on 14 made field goals at Vanderbilt on Dec. 5.
IN EXCLUSIVE COMPANY
Senior point guard Leslie Vorpahl recently became the 28th member of Tulane's 1,000-career point club back on Dec. 28. - now sitting with 1,131 points which ranks 15th all-time. On the assists side, Vorpahl currently ranks fourth on the all-time list at 495, chasing No. 3 Olivia Grayson at 499. Vorpahl would be just the third person to surpass 500 career assists behind Jamie Kaplan (582) and Ashley Langford (722)
If Vorpahl surpasses the 500 career assist milestone, she would become just the second player in program history to achieve 1,000 career points and 500 career assists. The lone Tulane women's player to achieve the feat ---> Langford (2005-09) with her 1,047 points & 722 assists.
CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME CHARTS
Morgan, who became the first player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points in her first two seasons, now sits at 1,434 career points, which ranks 8th all-time. Up next: No. 7 Olivia Grayson (2009-13) - 1,442 points
WYATT HEATING UP
The Green Wave's three-game win streak has coincided with a recent production surge from sophomore Harlyn Wyatt. The center has averaged 10.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals over the three-game stretch, including double-digit points in the past two games. Wyatt is shooting 56.7 percent from the field, which ranks 2nd in the AAC.
CLOSE MARGIN WINS
After three consecutive victories by single-digit margins, Tulane has improved to 6-2 in games decided by 10 points or less this season.
HOME SWEET HOME
A year after tying the program record for most wins inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse (14), the Green Wave are back at it again, starting the season off 7-0 at home before dropping their first contest on Jan. 4 to then No. 22 USF, 62-53. The loss also snapped the Wave's 11-game home win streak that dated back to last season, marking the longest win streak at home since 2003.
The Olive and Blue, now 9-1 at home this season, are averaging 71.6 ppg inside Fogelman in Devlin, with a +11.5 scoring margin. The Wave are also shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three-point range. Individually, Morgan & Vorpahl are averaging 20.9 ppg and 13.4 ppg at home, respectively.
