
Baseball Plays Host to Houston for Senior Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane baseball will honor its senior class this weekend when the Green Wave faces Houston in its final home conference series of the season this weekend at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. Game times are 6:30 p.m. Friday, 2:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Tulane will hold a special graduation ceremony for graduating players on the field prior to the game on Saturday. Sunday, the senior mothers will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and the graduating players will be honored individually between innings on the field Sunday.

The Green Wave enter the weekend at 23-26 overall and 10-8 in conference play, just two games out of first place, while the Cougars come in a 31-17 overall and 11-7 in league play. Saturday's game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network. The games will be broadcast on 88.3 FM WRBH, and live video and live stats will be available at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.

Tulane to Honor Senior Class This Weekend
Tulane will honor its departing players during the series vs. Houston this weekend. Saturday, a special graduation ceremony will be held on the field prior to first pitch, with University President Michael A. Fitts, Director of Athletics Troy Dannen and Faculty Athletics Representative Mike Hogg presenting diplomas. Sunday, the mothers of the senior class will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game, and the departing seniors will be honored one-by-one on the field between innings throughout the game. In addition, Tulane concessions is offering free Bloody Marys and Mimosas to mothers from 11 a.m. through the first inning.
     Tulane will celebrate the careers of seniors Christian Colletti, Jarret DeHart, Hunter Hope, Lex Kaplan, Corey Merrill, Jeremy Montalbano, Hunter Williams and Jake Willsey, as well as graduating fourth-year juniors Grant Brown and J.P. France.
     In their careers at Tulane, this group of players carried the Green Wave back to the NCAA postseason for the first time in seven years in 2015, and won the program's first conference championship in 11 years in 2016. Four players have earned All-American Athletic Conference selections to this point, and the class is represented in nine categories on Tulane career top-10 charts.

Tulane and Houston have played 78 times. Houston leads the series, 45-33. The Cougars won two of three games in Houston April 21-23, after the Green Wave won the opener. Last season, the teams split two games in New Orleans, and the Wave won two of three games at Houston, before the Cougars won twice in the conference tournament. Tulane won one of three games in each of the two series in 2015.
