NEW ORLEANS – Following a successful weekend performance in the Women's Showcase Semifinals, the Tulane sailing team heads back on the road to compete in the Tom Curtis Memorial Invitational in Washington, D.C on Saturday and Sunday.
The Green Wave will face host Georgetown, George Washington, Old Dominion, St. Mary's and Navy in the two-conference regatta. Each school will send three teams to compete in the respective A, B and C Division races on the water, totaling 18 fleet-style races each.
Tulane earned its first single race win last weekend, with freshman Ciara Rodriguez-Horan and senior Grace Bloomfield partnering to beat 16 tough opponents. The Green Wave finished with a No. 14 of 17 combined finish between their A and B Division teams.
