
Sailing Heads to Maryland, Prepares for Women's Showcase Semifinals

NEW ORLEANS – Following a successful home debut last weekend in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Regatta, Tulane sailing heads back on the road to compete in the Women's Showcase Semifinals in St. Mary's, Maryland on Saturday and Sunday.
The Green Wave finished fourth in the two-day home opener regatta on Lake Pontchartrain, totaling 488 points in 18 races to finish ahead of Georgia Tech and North Carolina State while falling to Stanford, Jacksonville and USF.Â
Tulane will compete against 16Â opponents this weekend: Boston College, Bowdoin, Christopher Newport, Eckerd, Fordham, George Washington, Hobart & William, MIT, St. Mary's, Stanford, Tufts, Pennsylvania, South Florida, Vermont, Wisconsin and Yale.
Each school will send two teams to compete in the respective Division A and B races, sailing a total of 34 fleet races in the interconference competition.Â
