NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's basketball team will continue nonconference play as it hosts South Alabama on Dec. 7. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.

This game will be the Green Wave's Toys for Tots game. Tickets will be $3 for fans that bring a toy to donate.

STARTING FIVE
1.          Tulane has made two 17+-point comeback wins on the road this season. The Green Wave rallied back from down 18 points in the third quarter at Washington. The Olive and Blue trailed by 17 in the third quarter at Southern Miss. and came back to win.
2.          Junior Krystal Freeman leads the Green Wave in points per game (13.7) and rebounds per game (6.4). She has logged back-to-back double-doubles in the past two games for Tulane (22pts., 10 rbs at USM; 18 pts., 11 rbs. vs. Charlotte).
3.          Junior Kaila Anderson dished out a career-high 10 assists against Middle Tennessee State.
4.          The 38 points scored by Central Arkansas marked the lowest total points scored by a Tulane opponent since Florida A&M scored 32 on Dec. 30, 2018.
5.          The Green Wave rank first in the American Athletic Conference in 3-point field goal defense as they hold 27.4 percent shooting from behind the arc this season.

SERIES HISTORY – SOUTH ALABAMA
• South Alabama leads the all-time series 11-8 over Tulane.
• The Green Wave have won the last five matchups between the two teams with the most recent win coming in November of 2010.
• The Olive and Blue are 4-0 against the Jaguars under head coach Lisa Stockton.
• The Green Wave are 5-4 all-time at home against South Alabama.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
• The Jaguars bring a 3-5 record into the matchup with the Green Wave. They have logged wins over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Mobile and Tennessee State.
• South Alabama comes into the game averaging 71.2 points a game on 39.6 percent shooting.
• The Jaguars grab 41.4 rebounds per game and dish out 11.4 assists.
• Senior Shaforia Kines leads South Alabama with 16.1 points per game. Kines is tops on the team with 25 assists and 13 steals this season.
• Junior Antoinette Lewis grabs a team-high 11.9 rebounds per game, while adding 16.0 points. Lewis ranks 11th in the NCAA in rebounds per game.
• Redshirt junior Savannah Jones adds 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
• Head coach Terry Fowler holds an all-time record of 295-286 and an 88-108 record during his time in Mobile, Ala.
• Fowler previously made stop at North Alabama and Spring Hill.

AGAINST THE SUN BELT
• Tulane is 55-29 all-time against teams from the Sun Belt Conference and 28-2 against Sun Belt teams under Stockton.
• The Green Wave have collected a 32-10 record against teams from the Sun Belt at Fogelman in Devlin.

COMEBACK KIDS
• The Olive and Blue trailed by 18 points with 1:24 remaining in the third quarter at Washington. Tulane then went on a 31-11 run to close the game and take a 64-62 win.
• Junior Arsula Clark knocked down the game winner with 0.5 seconds remaining to cap off the comeback. She scored 14 of her game-high 18 points in the second half.
• The Green Wave made another comeback as they rallied from down 17 in the third at Southern Miss. on Dec. 4 and pulled out the win.
• Tulane went on a 23-3 run from the six minute mark in the third to the 8:19 mark in the fourth quarter to take the lead over the Lady Eagles and finished the game with a win.
• Clark scored 17 of her 20 points in the second half to lead the charge.

ANDERSON DISHING DIMES
• Kaila Anderson dished out a career-high 10 assists against MTSU. She logged seven of the 10 in the first half.
• Anderson started the season with high assist numbers as she logged six assists against the Jackson State Nov. 5.
• The Kenner, Louisiana, native ranks fifth in the AAC in assists per game at 4.1.

CLARK LEADS THE WAY
• Transfer junior Arsula Clark has led the Green Wave in scoring in five games this season. She scored a season-high 23 points on Nov. 14 against MTSU after logging 18 at Washington on Nov. 10.
• Clark logged double-doubles in two straight games with a team-high 17 points and 11 rebounds against LSU and 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Central Arkansas.
• She was named to the AAC's weekly honor roll after the first two weeks of the season.

DEFENSE DOES IT
• The Green Wave defense was strong last season, giving up fewer than 60 points 15 times and fewer than 50 points four times. On December 30, 2018, against FAMU, Tulane allowed just 34 points. The team's scoring defense of 59.9 points per game ranked 67th nationally, and opponents' .367 field goal percentage ranked 34th in the nation.
• The good defense continued this season as the Green Wave held Jackson State to 46 points on 22.7 percent shooting. Tulane's opponents are averaging 60.5 points per game this season.
• The Green Wave held LSU to 59 points and 39.6 percent shooting. This included holding the Tigers to two points in the second quarter, which marked the 15th time Tulane has held an opponent to five or fewer points in a quarter since the NCAA moved to the four quarters format in the 2015-16 season.
• Tulane has held opponents to 8.6 points during the second quarter of home games this season.
• Central Arkansas' 38 total points were the fewest points allowed by the Green Wave since FAMU scored 32 in 2018.

CLOSE CALLS
• Though Tulane lost nine of its last 10 games of the 2018-19 season, many of those losses were incredibly close. The Green Wave's average margin of defeat in its last nine losses were just 6.3 points per game. Removing the 15-point loss to Cincinnati on March 4, 2019, Tulane's average margin of defeat in the seven prior games was just 4.7 points per game.
• Tulane's five losses this season have come by an average of 6.8 points, with the first two coming by a combined seven points.

THREE-POINT DEFENSE
• Green Wave opponents are shooting 27.4 percent from behind the arc this season. This figure ranks first in the AAC.
• The good 3-point defense continued to start the 2019-20 season as Jackson State shot 15.8 percent from behind the arc. This was the lowest 3-point percentage by a Tulane opponent since Memphis shot 11.1 percent on 2/2/2019.Â
• Tulane held Central Arkansas to 17.6 percent from 3-point range.
• The Wave held Charlotte to 16.7 percent shooting from behind the arc on Nov. 29.

SPREADING THE BALL AROUND
• On the 2017-18 roster, only six players averaged at least 4.0 points per game. Last season, eight players averaged at least 4.0 points per game.
• Through game nine this season, six players are averaging at least 5.0 points per game and two players are averaging double-figures.

ROLLING DEEP
• Through the regular season, the Green Wave bench played a huge part of the offense. Tulane bench players combined for 21.2 points per game in 2018-19, and Green Wave opponents averaged just 14.1 points per game off the bench.
• The bench is averaging 25.3 points per game through the first nine games of the season.
• Arsula Clark was a spark off the bench scoring 15 and 18 points in the first two games of the season, respectively. She scored 13 of her game-high 18 in the fourth quarter at Washington. Clark started her first game of the season against MTSU.
• Dynah Jones provided 11 points off the bench against Central Arkansas. Mia Heide scored 12 and added five blocks off the bench against Alabama.
• The team scored a season-high 56 points off the bench on Nov. 28 against Boston College
