Liu Leads the Green Wave in the Final Day at the SMU Trinity Invitational

DALLAS – The Tulane women's golf team finished eighth with a total score of 913 at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational in its first tournament of the 2019-20 season.
Freshman Hanna Liu led the way for the Green Wave in the final round with a score of two-under 70. After teeing off on the 14th hole, Lui birdied the 15th hole then logged nine-straight pars before a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole. She capped her final round off with a birdie on the par-4 13th hole. The Austin, Texas, native finished her first collegiate tournament tied for 27th with a total score of nine-over 225.
Fellow freshman Carlota Palacios tied for 27th with a total score of nine-over 225. After posting two rounds at one-over 73, Palacios logged a seven-over 79 in the final round. She recorded three birdies in the final round and nine total for the tournament.
"We're happy to have improved our position from yesterday's round and I'm happy for Hanna [Liu] to record her first under-par score of her Tulane career," Tulane head coach Stew Burke said. "Coach Lisa [Bisset] did a great job walking with her. As a team, we know the improvements we need to make before we compete again next week. As coaches, we'll be working hard to make the necessary adjustments."
Junior Jennifer Rosenberg closed the tournament tied for 41st with a total score of 14-over 230. She posted seven birdies over the three rounds in Dallas.
Sophomore Isabella Cardenas (tied for 54th, 238) and senior Gabrielle Correia (63rd, 245) rounded out the Tulane's lineup.
Oklahoma State took the team title with a score of two-over 866, while Texas Tech's Sofia Garcia was the individual champion at 10-under 206.
The two-day event was held at the par 72, 6,233-yard Trinity Forest Golf Club. This year's field featured two teams in the nation's top 50 with Baylor (No. 28) and Texas Tech (No. 30).
