Â
The team goes into the weekend off the back of a 9-6 victory over the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns Wednesday night at Russo Park in Lafayette, scoring eight of its nine runs over the course of the first two innings. Tulane plated five runs in the first and three more in the second, holding off a rally by the Cajuns midway through the game to pull out the victory.

Tulane is hitting .299 on the season through the first four games, while the pitching staff is holding teams to a .192 clip with a 2.57 ERA so far.
Â
Ty Johnson and Grant Mathews lead the way for the Green Wave with six hits each so far this season, with Johnson leading the team in average with a .545 mark, while Mathews has eight of Tulane's 27 RBI this year.
Â
The team will forge ahead with the rotation of Braden Olthoff, Jack Aldrich and Donovan Benoit on the mound for the weekend, as the trio was tagged for only four earned runs last weekend.
Â
Cal State Fullerton began the year taking two of three games against Stanford but fell in the midweek to San Diego State on the road. The Titans took two of three games against Tulane the last time the two sides met back in New Orleans in 2018, with Fullerton owning an 11-3 record against the Green Wave in the all-time series.
