Volleyball Bounces back to take Sundays Match with Temple

NEW ORLEANS- Tulane Volleyball bounces back with a five-set win (25-16,25-22,25-21,25-20,15-7) on Sunday against Temple.

The Green Wave improve to 14-10 overall and 7-5 in conference with tonight's win. Tulane out killed the Temple 66 to 55 and hit .291 with 59 assists and digs.Â

Three starters had double-digit kills in the match Lexie Douglas, Kayla Dinkins, and Michelle Urquhart. Douglas broke her career record for kills in a match with 27. Before tonight the most she had was 26, which came last week against East Carolina. She also had her high hitting percentage of the season at .524 and was just shy of her career high in points with 28. Urquhart claimed 12 kills today with six dis and added another ace to her conference leading number. Dinkins came in right after with 10 kills, three blocks and 12.5 points.
Setter Taylor Henigsman set 50 assists and 14 digs for a career high of her own. The Senior also added two kills and two aces. With these number Henigsman claimed another double-double.

On the defensive end libero Sophia Ervanian and Lizzy Stefanov did most of the heavy lifting with a combined 23 digs.Â

Tulane took the first set 25-16. The Green Wave had an offensive power that the Pirates couldn't handle. The Wave had 13 kills with two aces while hitting a .414 mark. The Defense managed to hold the Owls to a minimal.147 clip.

Set two wasn't the same smooth waters. The Wave dropped the set 25-22 while hitting .455 in the back-and-forth set.

Sets three went to the Olive and Blue 25-21. After 11 ties the Wave pulled off the come from behind win.

The Fourth set saw a less productive offense from the Wave. While only hitting .188 wasn't great the real kryptonite was trying to dig out of the hole they got in early. The Owls opened the set going up 8-3.

Set five was all Wave from start to finish. With 10 kills and a staggering .600 hitting percentage the set went final 15-7.

The Green Wave return to action Friday Nov. 5 to take on Tulsa in Oklahoma. First serve is set for seven and will be aired on ESPN+.Â
