
Tulane Travels to Face In-State Rival LSU on Tuesday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University women's basketball team will go for its first 5-0 start since the 2014-15 campaign as it heads to Baton Rouge to take on LSU on Tuesday. Tipoff between the Green Wave and the Tigers is set for 6 p.m. inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Â

The Green Wave's matchup with the Tigers will be aired live on SEC Network plus. Fans can watch the game live by CLICKING HERE. This will be the 42nd meeting all-time between Tulane and LSU. The Tigers hold a 32-9 advantage over the Green Wave in the series. The last time Tulane beat the Bayou Bengals came on Nov. 15, 2018, when the Wave beat LSU 56-54 in Baton Rouge. Tulane dropped the last matchup in the series 59-54 at home on Nov. 17, 2019.

All five of Tulane's starters are averaging at least eight points per game this season, with four starters averaging more than 10. Redshirt senior Moon Ursin leads the team averaging 16.3 points and eight rebounds per game. Dynah Jones follows with 13.3 points per contest while shooting 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. Krystal Freeman averages just shy of a double-double at 12.8 points and 9.3 boards per game and Arsula Clark rounds out the top scorers for the Wave at 10.8 points.

The Olive and Blue are coming off a dominant 86-53 win over South Alabama on Saturday. All 14 players on the Tulane roster got into the scoring column in the victory with three finishing in double figures. Clark led the Wave with 17 points along with seven rebounds and three assists. Freeman and Ursin followed with 10 points apiece.

LSU head coach Kim Mulkey is in her first year at the helm of the Tigers after 21 season and three national championships at Baylor. Mulkey coached Ursin during Baylor's 2019 National Championship campaign.

LSU is coming off a 70-41 win at home over Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday, Nov. 18. Khayla Pointer leads a trio of Tigers averaging double figures through three games this season. Pointer is averaging 16.0 points per contest while Alexis Morris and Hannah Gusters are each adding 11 points per game.

Following its matchup at LSU, the Green Wave will head to Denver, Colorado for the Pioneer Thanksgiving Classic hosted by the University of Denver on Friday and Saturday. Tulane will face Wyoming Friday and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on Saturday. Tipoff for both matchups is set for 2 p.m. CT.
