
Women's Basketball Set to Play Ole Miss in Second Round of WNIT

MEMPHIS, TENN. – The Tulane University women's basketball team will take on Ole Miss in the second round of the WNIT on Saturday, March 20. The game will tip-off at 8 p.m. at My Town Movers Fieldhouse in Collierville, Tenn.

STARTING FIVE
1.           Freshman JerKaila Jordan has made a splash early in her collegiate career. She has been honored by the AAC 10 times. Back on Dec. 14 she was named Conference Player of the Week. Jordan has picked up seven Freshman of the Week awards this season. She has led the Green Wave in scoring in 15 of the team's 26 games this season. Â
2.           Jordan ranked in the top 10 in the American Athletic Conference in scoring (16.5), field goal percentage (.489), free throw percentage (.716) and steals (2.1) all season.
3. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Jordan is seventh in points per game and ninth in field goal percentage in the nation among all freshmen. She led all freshman in The American in both categories.
4. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Senior Krystal Freeman leads the Green Wave and ranked third in the AAC with 7.8 rebounds per game. She is second on the team and 10th in the conference with 12.6 points a game.
5.           Senior Arsula Clark earned Preseason Second Team All-AAC honors. She ranked third on the team and 13th in the conference in scoring with a 12.1 points per game average.

SERIES HISTORY – OLE MISS
•Tulane holds a 3-2 advantage over Ole Miss. The Green Wave won the last game between the two teams 61-59 in 2015.
• Ole Miss won 89-66 in 2013 for its last win in the series.
• Head coach Lisa Stockton holds 25-35 all-time record against teams currently in the SEC.

SCOUTING THE REBELS
•Ole Miss enters the second round of the WNIT with a 12-11 overall record. The Redbirds finished tenth in the SEC this season.
• The Rebels are coming off a 64-45 win over to Samford in the first round of the WNIT.
• Ole Miss averages 70.6 points per game while holding opponents to 63.3.
• The Rebels have grabbed 39.1 rebounds per game.
• Junior guard Shakira Austin leads Ole Miss in almost every category. She adds 18.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.
• Austin also shoots 53.1 percent from the field. She was seventh in the SEC in scoring, third in field goal percentage and 10th in steals in rebounds.
• Redshirt junior guard Mimi Reid leads the team in assists at 4.7 assists per game.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Donnetta Johnson is the only other Rebel in averaging double figures this season at 12.3 points per game.
• Freshman Madison Scott is second the team with 7.0 rebounds per game. She also adds 9.5 points a game.
• Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin is in her third season on the bench for the Rebels and has posted a 28-56 mark since arriving.
• She has also made a stop at Jacksonville and owns a 122-119 career record.

JORDAN SETS RECORDS
• Freshman JerKaila Jordan won seven American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week awards this season.
• Jordan now holds the all-time conference record for freshman of the week awards by a single player.
• She joins Iowa's Caitlin Clark and UConn's Paige Bueckers as the only freshmen in the nation to post back-to-back-to-back games of 28 or more points this season.
• Jordan and Bueckers are the only two freshmen in the nation averaging at least 16.0 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals while shooting 48.0 percent or better from the field.Â

FRESHMAN LEADS THE WAY
• Freshman Jerkaila Jordan currently leads the Green Wave with 16.5 points and 56 steals.
• She is second on the team with 68 assists, 31 made threes and 18 blocked shots.
• Jordan has scored in double figures in 22 of the Green Wave's 26 games.
• The New Orleans native is third all-time in total points among freshmen in program history. She currently has 429 points on the year. Her 16.5 points per game are first all-time among freshmen.
• The freshman guard had a career day against UCF on Feb. 17. She scored a then-season-high 28 points on 9-17 from the field and 4-9 from three. This is the most points a Tulane freshman has scored since stats were readily available.
• Jordan followed that performance up with 29 points on 11-21 shooting and 6-7 from the free throw line at USF.
• She continued her hot streak with 29 points on 13-22 shooting from the floor and 3-5 from three at Memphis.

FREEMAN JOINS THE 1,000-POINT CLUB
• Senior Krystal Freeman scored the 1,000th point of her career as she connected on a jumper from the wing against UCF in the third quarter of the Green Wave's league opener on the road.
• Freeman became the 29th player in program history to surpass 1,000 points. She currently ranks 12th in scoring in program history with 1,264 points.
• The Pineville, La., native currently sits 10th all-time in program history with 707 rebounds. She became just the eighth player to score 1,000 points and grab 700 rebounds in program history with her 10th rebound against USF on March 10.

STOCKTON THE LEGEND
• Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton has amassed 603 NCAA wins in her 30-year coaching career. This number currently ranks 19th among all active Division I coaches. Stockton has the most wins of any coach in the American Athletic Conference.

• Now in her 27th year with the Green Wave women's basketball program in 2020-21 it's hard to imagine anyone else at the helm besides Coach Lisa Stockton. Her numbers are staggering: three different conferences, four conference tournament championships, two conference regular-season championships, six All-Americans, 11 NCAA Tournament berths, eight WNIT spots and 540 wins. No one in the history of Tulane women's basketball is even close to Stockton's career numbers.

• Tulane seniors Arsula Clark, Kaila Anderson, Krystal Freeman and Sierra Cheatham will be honored for senior day. Anderson, Freeman and Cheatham have spent four seasons with the Green Wave, while Clark has played two seasons Uptown.
• The four seniors have combined for 3,008 points, 1,464 rebounds and 657 assists in their careers for the Green Wave.

• The Green Wave could face either Nebraska or Colorado in the Memphis Regional Final of the WNIT with a win.
• Tulane and Nebraska have met once in program history. The Green Wave took the only meeting between the two teams 84-78 in 2001.
• Stockton holds a 1-6 record against teams currently in the Big Ten.
•Colorado holds a 2-1 advantage over Tulane. Colorado took the last meeting between the two teams 62-52 in 2019.
