
Beach Volleyball to Host Bayou Beach Duals Friday and Saturday

NEW ORLEANS — The (RV) Tulane beach volleyball team is back in action this weekend, hosting the Bayou Beach Duals on Friday and Saturday at the White Sands Volleyball Courts.
The Green Wave will face Texas A&M Kingsville at 8:30 a.m. and Florida State at 2:30 p.m. on Friday before competing against Spring Hill College at 8:30 a.m. and Louisiana Monroe at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
In the team's opening weekend at home, Tulane went 4-0 on the sand, defeating UNO (5-0), UAB (4-1), Utah (5-0) and Southeastern Louisiana (5-0).
Texas A&M Kingsville is 4-0 to start the 2021 season, sweeping Ottawa in two matches last season while notching two 4-1 wins over Stephen F. Austin in the TAMUK Tournament. Tulane owns a 2-0 career record against the Javelinas, most recently sweeping them in 2020 in the New Orleans Invitational.
No. 2 FSU is also 4-0 to start the year, sweeping Southern Miss, No. 6 Cal Poly and Tampa while earning a 4-1 win over No. 8 Loyola Marymount in the Seminole Beach Bash. The Green Wave are looking to earn their first-ever win over the Seminoles as they head into the weekend with an 0-12 record.
Spring Hill College heads to NOLA with an undefeated record, sweeping Huntingdon College in two matches before sweeping William Carey University to go 4-0 to start 2021. The Olive and Blue are 9-0 against Spring Hill, earning a 5-0 win in their most recent matchup in last year's Tiger Beach Challenge.
Louisiana Monroe is 0-4 so far this season, falling to Texas A&M Corpus Christi twice with identical 2-3 scores, while also falling to Houston Baptist (2-3) and No. 1 LSU (1-4). Tulane is 7-6 against ULM, last sweeping the in-state opponent in the 2020 New Orleans Invitational.
