Golf Finishes 7th at Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Due to cold weather the final round of the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational was cut down to just nine holes. The Tulane University golf team was able to finish in seventh place in a loaded field in the tournament hosted by Kansas.

Every team shot over with Kent State taking the tournament with a score of 741, 21-over par. Tulane finished 55-over.

Sophomore Carla Bernat had the best performance for the Green Wave finishing tied for ninth having shot 7-over, just 5 strokes back from first.

Matilde Innocenti wasn't far behind shooting 14-over and finish tied for 23rd.

Tulane returns to action this weekend as the team is set to compete in the Jim West Invitational this Sunday-Monday in San Marcos, Texas.
