Tulane Sailing Hosting Baldwin Wood Regatta and Racing in Atlantic Coast Championship Finals

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Sailing will return to action hosting a regatta in The Big Easy this weekend while also sending a squad to race in the northeast. The Green Wave will host the Baldwin Wood Open Fleet Race on Saturday and compete in Connecticut in the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals Saturday and Sunday.

Tulane will welcome in four teams to New Orleans to compete in the Baldwin Wood regatta on the water of Lake Pontchartrain. The Wave will race against teams from Loyola-New Orleans, Texas, and Texas A&M on Saturday. Tulane will field three teams in the regatta: Green Wave, Riptide, and Angry Wave Women. The expected starting lineups for Tulane will feature Zander King with Alex Makoid in the A Division and Matheo Capasso with Essie Clifton in the B Division for Green Wave, John Wood with Raquel Shulman in the A Division and Bobby Rielly with Hope Breslin in the B Division for Riptide, and Lucy Spearman with Catherine Anderson in the A Division and Ashley Hoguet with Megan Cassidy in the B Division for Angry Wave Women.
Meanwhile, in the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the Green Wave will race among 18 teams in New London, Connecticut. The regatta will be sailed in two divisions in a single round robin of 20 scheduled races. Tulane will enter the weekend with skipper Cameron Giblin alongside crew Andrea Riefkohl-Gonzalez racing in the A Division and skipper Ciara Rodriguez-Horan with crew Gillian Perrell competing in the B Division. Asher Zittrer, Brady Starck, and Kit Stoll will also be available for the Wave as alternates.

In the first fall Sailing World College Rankings, Tulane was picked fourth in the Open poll and eighth in the Women's poll.
Results will be posted for the Baldwin Wood Open Fleet Race HERE and the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals HERE following each day of racing.
