Tulane Sailing Finishes Sixth in Both Weekend Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Sailing posted a pair of sixth place finishes this weekend racing in Round 1A of the Open Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championships in Kings Point, New York, and the Stu Nelson Women's Fleet Race in New London, Connecticut.
Tulane concluded the Open Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championships with 227 total points to land just four points away from a top five finish. Ciara Rodriguez-Horan alongside Gillian Perrell and Kit Stoll in the B Division led the Green Wave posting 95 points to land fifth in the division. In the A Division Cameron Giblin, Thad Lettsome, Andrea Riefkohl-Gonzalez, and Perrell worked together to finish sixth in the division with 132 points.
On the waters of the Thames River in the Stu Nelson Women's Fleet Race, Tulane climbed up three spots to post a sixth-place finish with 259 total points. Lucy Spearman and Abigail Borggaard pace the Green Wave in the C Division with 66 points to land fifth in their division. The next best score for the Wave came from Mia Hanes and Essie Clifton in the B Division with 88 points which was good for seventh in the division. In the A Division, Caroline Benson and Ellie Spearman teamed up to post 105 points and finish 11th.
Up next, Tulane will compete in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship finals in Kings Point, New York, and the Captain Hurst Open Fleet Race in Hanover, New Hampshire, next weekend, October 15-16.
